Farcry 2 any good?

I've barely touched the single player but I'm really enjoying it over live. I only paid £17 for it so it's been a good purchase so far.
 
Been through a selection of emotions during my time with this fella on PS3, but have to say - on balance - that I enjoy it more and more as I go through.
I am now more or less half-way, and am actually starting to enjoy the variety of strategy you can approach everything by.....still, can understand people's frustrations as there are plenty of times that it gets me too !
That said, beuatiful game in HD, and better than many ;)
 
I'm just wondering - how is the PC so radically different that it can do Quick Saves/Quick Loads but the consoles can only do file operations at Safe Houses?

I might have been exaggerating a little, but really, it seemed to take a ridiculous amount of bullets to kill a person.
 
Worst game ever,

Its sad really because i think they spent so many years on it, its just BORING.. doing the same thing over and over, drive to this place then drive to the other side of the map again and back. blah blaah

I'm not even sure how they can improve it...i think it was the setting in Africa which made everything so boring.
 
Meh glad i haven't paid a penny to play it. What a shocking game. Online was rubbish. Tried about 10 times and just waited in the lobby with other people and the game never startted. Will be sending this straight back to Tesco Rental in a bit.
 
I know im a little bit late to the party but just got this today. Honestly only one hour in but can't believe how good the game is. Playing on second from hardest difficulty as it really makes you think about how you approach a situation. Reminds me of one of my favorite games Deus Ex in that you can approach a situation how you want to.

Just hope it dosn't get repetitive! :)

Unfortunately, it does get repetitive!

But is that really a good thing when the action is good anyway ;)

I'm under the definate conclusion as someone said so greatly above that this is a marmite game. I certainly do enjoy it.
 
I got a wee bit fed up at having to fight the men in the same locations again and again but I stuck with it and finished it. The final part is pretty good! I kept going mainly because I wanted to see all the locations on the map. Some beautiful terrain.

Yeah I agree with that. I think its the fact its not all action, it takes time to set up your assaults on higher difficultys (makes it sound like a rape simulator lol). The best games are where you have to use tactics to make it through alive in my opinion rather than just go from A-B in a linear path.

I was very impressed by the flame thrower and the way fire spreads, don't think that has been done in a game before. Wasn't so happy the gun appeared to have unlimited ammo, why can't a dev implement a good feature subtly anymore without giving us unlimited ammo or a hammer or a mavity gun lol.
 
Yeah, the flame thrower is definitely my favourite weapon. It's how I played most of the game - just charging in and setting the guys on fire. They are totally vulnerable to it.
