Favourite Microwavable Foods?

Ginsters slices are quite nice, be careful though they go soggy easily, keep checking every few seconds!

Tesco microwave Lasagne and Macaroni cheese both great too!

Hmmm choices, none would pass as food but as a tasty snack these are all win.

Ham & Cheese micro toasties
Rustlers BBQ Rib
Snacksters Micro cheeseburgers, 99p for 2

I used to like those Chicagotown pizza's but the cheese used to end up anywhere but on the pizza.

rustlers burgers
reheated pizza hut pizza
toasties
sweddish meetballs from tesco
they puddin things (i.e sticky toffee puddin etc)

You know there are other ways of heating liquids in the kitchen right?

Not when you're at work and all you have is a kettle and microwave, people don't appreciate it when you try to boil/heat milk in the kettle. :)

Much the same as they don't like it when you drunkenly try to do cheese on toast in the toaster by lying it down on it's side. :D

I like those £1 roast meals in a box from Lidle...honestly, before you judge, try them.

Yup, they're surprisingly tasty!

Asda's "Go Cook" range do really good microwavable things (and their oven things are delish too!!). It's 2 for £5 the now too. There's things like cod and white wine sauce (my fave), red thai curry, haddock and I can't remember what else. They come with veg and everything too and are fairly healthy.

Weird, I've had loads of food that is to be microwaved and yes... it is food.

No it's not - it's junk.

But I have high standards, so if you enjoy it, please carry on I won't stop you. However you will not convince me it is a) good, b) nutritious c) healthy, because the answer to all 3 is no ;)

Baked potato isn't half bad so long as the microwave has a cooking option for it - not so great if you just bung it in on max.

Actually that's a good one I do agree with, and cooking veggies as you can semi steam them in a microwave which is a little better than boiling veggies. Actually you can bake the potato in the usual way, bring it to work and re-heat it in the microwave and keep the skin crisp, so that does work well.

The microwave is a good convenience, short-cut, lazy invention - so for a developed world where time saving and efficiency is a must I can see why it's so popular, but I just can't stand 'em. If you use them it's best to use pyrex glass dishes too - although the research of leeching plastics isn't conclusive, I'd rather use glass than plastic in the microwave!

Lasagne tastes best after 24 hours, making a microwave crucial, reheating a lasagne in an oven doesn't work.

Best way to do a baked potato in the microwave is to put it ontop of a cup (must be microwave safe!!) and then put it on for 7mins. Then turn the potate 180 and put it back on for 5mins. This works for large potatoes, but you will probably have to reduce the times if it is a small potato.
