Can anybody confirm if the 'Samsung EcoGreen F2 1.5TB Hard Drive SATAII 32MB' has 1.5Gps (SATA 1) Jumper settings?

I have an old school SATA 1 motherboard (Abit AN7 - nForce 2) and will presumably need to set the Samsung to SATA 1 speed. The jumpers I assume are how you do it but I've heard that some SATA II drives don't have jumper settings for this!?

So, can anybody confirm if this Samsung model does? If not, how do you set it to SATA 1 speed?

Thanks!

I have a 1.5TB Samsung EcoGreen F2 installed on an ASRock P4i65G which only supports SATAI, however I didn't need to move any jumpers, it worked straightaway without any changes...

SATA II drives are backwards compatable with SATA1 controllers. However I believe on the Samsungs you can force the drives to SATA1 speed using there ESEtool utility.

Ok, it has jumpers but no pins (is that normal on these drives?) so I can't change anything anyway. So I plugged it in when already in Windows, Windows saw it and I was able to format it. So the drive works, Windows sees it, 1.36 TB is free etc.

However, Windows (XP) will not boot with it plugged in even though I've formatted it, I can only boot into Windows when I unplug the new Samsung. With the Samsung plugged in it gets stuck at the Bios screen, it detects my usual Hard drive, then detects the new Samsung and just gets stuck there.

Any ideas anyone? I've looked in the bios for relevant settings to change but nothing stands out. It's been a while since I've messed around with PC's so perhaps I'm missing something obvious?

Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm currently completely stuck!

Thanks

PS The SATA controller is SIL 3112A SATA Raid 4.2.47 if that helps..
