**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

That's one of the most ridiculous transfers I've seen yet. Eto'o for Ibrahimovic in a straight swap and Barca come off worse, nevermind throwing cash + another player into the deal.

He's a very good striker but in no way worth 60mil+, if it happens I'll be very surprised. I also don't think the Real transfers are inflating the market hugely, last year Ade was talked about as a 30mil deal, he's going for £20mil, poss £25mil which isn't awful if you are mistaken and think he's good.

Tevez was supposed to be £32mil, went for £25mil, Barry a little cheaper than he was going for last summer, Roque the same price quoted last year. There's often a ridiculous price here and there most seasons yet somehow it doesn't effect the rest of the market very much at all. How long ago was the Zidane fee, which didn't change much then either.

Ade's supposedly signing today after haggling over his contract and something has been "ironed out" which assuming its true(and it sounds far more likely) means his cover story was BS and sounded pretty pathetic in the first place "I might decide to leave just incase people think I'm a money grabbing whore, sob, sob, whimper" .

Supposedly O'neill is saying there are no offers for Young yet, which makes me think its a club waiting on money to come through that want to buy him which would push Arsenal/Liverpool to the front of the list. As frankly I can't see why Utd/Young wouldn't just put their offer down asap and have him in as early as possible.

Ibrahimovic is a lazy **** who has always been way over rated. I wouldn't pay £18m for him, waste of time and a shirt.

I would honestly prefer Kuyt than him.

Madrid seem happy to now offer £32 million for Alonso. Will soften the blow if we get Silva.

I'd be happy with £32 million. As long as we spend it wisely. I know it was only a pre season friendly but I was pretty disappointed with our attacking in the match against St Gallen on wednesday. Just didnt have an edge or punch to it.

Would prefer to see 32 million go on 2 players (or 3 even) rather than splashing it on one though.

Did you see last seasons friendlies though? We played awful, and look how that ended. :D

£32m for Alonso is ridiculous :(

Not really, when he is one of the key players in the squad, and we don't play overly well when he isn't in the squad.
