You're not the only one it seems. I really like the look of this board though and plan to get one despite all the reported issues. I've just to hope I'm one of the lucky few who's board doesn't melt

We've got the X58 LE arriving next week some time but the UD5 is still the better board IMO.

sadly i didnt get it from overclockers, it was the only part i didnt, you guys didnt have it in stock and i was in a rush to build, but ive learnt my leason on this one.
so was mine untill the day it set on fire.

This is my next purchase, Can't wait to get one 
personally I would either get the UD5 or rampage GENE. If the EVGA was the 16x on all lanes I was hearing about £305 ain't a bad buy.
As for the overheating, that sucks, I know most chipsets can run hot, but for it to go up in flames means EVGA failed at a seriously sensitive part of the board, most people probably get away with it when they have good air flow in the case, it probably just cools it down enough.

Based on your sig, I would query why you dropped the cash on one...
The board is similar to the Scooby WRX/Lancer Evos/etc. in the world: 99% of people will buy them because of the potential, 1% might actually use it for the purposes it was intended.
The way i look at it is EVGA 10 YEAR warranty and the board has plenty to offer me without having to upgrade for a long time and i have the money to do it so i dont see the problem,some people smoke drink go out every weekend and spend £100s what do they get cancer and liver failure 
To be honest, most peeps seem to completely miss the point of this mobo.
It's designed for Phase/Cascade/LN2/DICE. If you are using anything less in the way of cooling, you just don't need this board.
As for moaning about the price.......................then buy something cheaper then. No one's forcing you to buy it.
