My new pen

I cashed in my Eurosar frequent traveller points for a complete Mont Blanc set and it is nice to have good pens - I actually use the pencil and roller ball a lot, the ink pen less so. They feel nice and look smart in meetings etc. Granted mine were free but the way some people here bang on about watches and now pens is very boring. Some people enjoy them, some don't: get over it.

Exactly and some people blow hundreds of pounds on graphics cards so what, each to their own.

Yeah but there's actually a benefit over cheaper ones that they can redraw the screen faster, can more expensive pens write faster? No, it's a waste of money plain and simple.

=/

Bic Pen = 5p
Expensive Pen = £125

£125 / 0.05
= 2500 Bic Pens
But price is different to perceived value, if someone wants to spend hundreds on a pen there's nothing wrong with that.

£125 isn't much anyway, I'm on a Czech wage and probably earn less than most people here but still have enough disposable income to get a handful of £125 pens a month.

Strange how so many people are questioning £125 on a pen when watches worth thousands are posted here quite regularly. I personally don't care what other people spend their money on so wouldn't be critical at all, just seems hypocritical that people complain about this and not the watch threads when the two situations are almost identical.

have you actually read the watch threads because it is the same baseless whining in them without fail

I only usually see 1 or 2 posts, there's loads in here. For the record I can't see why people get worked up about other posters spending, it's really odd.

You'll probably find that:
A) Most of the people deriding it are not watch lovers.
B) Most watch threads get hounded for the same reasons.
C) A lot of the watch hounding has been stamped out by mods who like expensive watches.

I don't think anyone is getting worked up, the OP finds it acceptable to post his taste so why are others not allowed to post their taste in response?

Sorry to jump in, but I got a new pen today too.

My girlfriend just gave me one of these as she got a couple free from work.

...it's pretty cool :)

I can appreciate spending a bit of money (<£30) on a comfortable, well designed pen, but I would never pay for the styling. With a watch, it's on your wrist all the time, so people are going to notice it. With a pen, unless someone is actually watching you write, no-one is going to notice it unless you show it off. And no-one likes a showoff.
