I want to upgrade my computer and I want things to load faster like changing maps in games etc.

SSD - does it cause judder when it used for a while? eg. as a boot drive and store temp files and page files?

I am using onboard raid 0 with 2x 500gb HD

what? you will with a decent ssd. which, won't stutter unless you get a jmicron one with next to no cache.

He already has two drives in RAID 0. An SSD already only offers a few seconds max over a single 7200rpm disk for game loading, with RAID 0 that will be nothing. Of course an SSD is beneficial in loads of other ways.

without trim your performance will degrade more over time, so instead of 230mb/s you might go down to 150mb/s. It definately wont judder unless you buy an SSD with a jmicron controller. dont bother with raptors, they are noisy slow and worthle££ now and seek times are way higher.
