I think there are elements of truth, in terms of a very deep, close friendship, I would argue that can very easily be translated or confused with attraction.
Are the girls 'really great' friends who you would tell everything too etc, or are they just chicks that you know, hang around with a bit, go out for drinks etc - if the former then your missus probably thinks they are trying to get in your pants, if the latter, tell her she has nothing to worry about

Girls should not deny their boyfriends girl mates. I mean, fair enough if one of the mates is known to put it about a bit, I'd be cautious, but I wouldn't say anything. My bf has a group of girl-friends he's known since school, they all text him regularly, doesn't bother me at all.
I'm still friends with a couple of ex's of mine, so I couldn't complain even if I wanted to!
To be honest, you can't help who you get on with / fall in love with or dislike.
It is impossible to not be "friends" with someone just because someone else has a problem with it... such things just lead to jealously and frustration from both party's (the person not allowed the friends, and the person trying to deny them).

If for whatever reason I am with said female alone, circumstances do not change.
