*****PRE-ORDER: WINDOWS 7*****

Does anyone know when OcUK will be getting the highest version of Windows 7 witch is: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Retail in for pre-order???

Thank you for responding.

you could always google it

AppLocker
BitLocker Drive Encryption
BranchCache Distributed Cache
DirectAccess
Subsystem for Unix-based Applications
Multilingual User Interface Pack
Virtual Hard Disk Booting

thats what it has over pro.

The first pre-order price isn't available anymore. Stock was extremely limited with most retailers selling out on the first day alone so plenty more people will be wanting to order.

I checked our pricing against our competitors a few minutes ago and we were pretty keen. Post in the pre-sales forum of where you've found it cheaper and I'll have a look.

OEM will be out eventually but Microsoft are not giving us any pricing at the moment.

Yes it is. If you look hard enough!

Huh I thought this is supposed to be officially £49 until aug ? from microsofts mouth ?

It was £49 until the 9th of August, or until the quantities MS had allocated sold out. The quantities MS had allocated sold out.

So had those limited amounts not sold out they could put the price up. And presumably so that vendors who weren't part of that initial pre-order push, like OcUK, weren't left being undercut by vendors who were.

Oh I see sounds a bit dodgy to me though why say til aug 9th if its limited amounts.

Why? It's just like any other company saying that a deal lasts until a date or while stocks last. Microsoft said exactly the same thing; I fail to see why people are getting so upset about this. Microsoft said "we are allocating a certain number of W7 Home Premium to sell for £50; after they run out, or after August 9th, pre-orders will go at a higher price."

What have they done wrong?

Great work again on the pricing OcUK - you guys have really improved since last year when you were awesome for some things and a little expensive for others. Seem to be getting amazing deals across everything now. Yay :D

I don't need to buy cos I will download it full version of windows 7 ultimate 32/64 direct via microsoft technet plus direct subscription as it will release next month on the technet plus direct site as Microsoft told me on the phone. As my subscription end next year in June 2010.

So you're not planning on running Windows 7 on any kind of production machine then?
You're only going to run Win7 on test machines in a full test environment.
Because that is all your Technet licenses allow.
