Ray Bans?

Sorry, im out at the moment, so still on the phone answering this, Ill try answer fully when I get home...However, I thought id chuck this in first. Have you ever been tested for colourblindness? The reason I say so is because of two things...you cant judge depth with dark lenses....some coloured lenses cure this. Certain tints, as in red/purple in particular, in certain people with colour blindness, can alter the way your brain interprets colours, and effectively depth (like 3D glasses), and in a way, correct the colourblindness. Obviously this is completely dependant on the person, and the type of colour blindness one suffers from.

My advice first and foremost above anything else would be to see a specialist about colourblindness. I dont mean pick up a ishihara test (the one with the colour dots) Actually go see a specialist. If you do suffer from any form of colour blindness, then there is a machine that can determine if a tinted lens will work for you (I cant remember the name of the machine for the life of me) but I think there are only about 4 of them in the UK at actual opticians, so they may direct you elsewhere.

Hope this helps in some way

Appreciate the feedback :)

What you say makes perfect sense, and have to be honest as I type this I can't honestly say if that's the reason or not.

All I can say however is due to the nature of my profession I'm entitled to free eye examinations on a regular basis so use this 'perk' on an annual basis.

The optician I use certainly hasn't said anything in the past, but will certainly mention it to him.

It' no major ball-ache, the only time it gets me down is during these summer months when I'm constantly squinting because of the bright sun and people say "Can't you get some sun glasses", but of course I can't.

And again, sounds daft, but the only 'style' of frame that has those coloured lenses appears to be kiddie style frames.

But do really appreciate your input.

Well in the meantime just as my last 2 cents really, most opticians, cant tint lenses in a tint bath. You just tell them the colour, theyll chuck a clear lens in the tint bath...and will come out the colour you want. These could then be put into any glasses at all! So yeah, you would have to pay for the frame (but most high street opticians have their own range of glasses and sunglasses starting at £19.99) and as the lenses would be without a prescritption, they would cost next to nothing to make and be put in.

So maybe have a word with a highstreet optician about this, could be a quick fix.

Thinking about getting a pair of ray ban aviators myself but can't decide on size, small (55mm), medium (58mm) or large (62mm). I've got what I'd call an average size face so if anyone could advise I'd be grateful! Annoyingly I live in a place with rubbish shops so can't just pop down and try each of the sizes on :(

Only one way to find out, pics please!;)

I would, but partition magic just raped my hard drive and all of its contents. All of my music and videos have gone so I would look very annoyed :o

These are the glasses though:

Nah they aren't too bad, look like a normal pair of glasses, I was thinking more along the lines of the traditional Ray bans (aviators etc). Didn't realise they did normal glasses now. :p
