Anyway onto an anime of quality: Bakemonogatari

I can wholeheartedly recommend this series. It's witty, sexy and captivating. The OP is damn addictive. STAPLE STAPLE.

+1 for Bakemonogatari, incredibly nice to watch. Episode 3 was simply 20 minutes straight of banter, and it was still incredible. Also the art style is easily one of the best I've seen, watching in 720p is an absolute pleasure.

May have to take a look at the weekend ... I think I have the first few episodes around somewhere .... ;)

Ahhh, watched Serial Experiments Lain again yesterday. Probably my favorite anime.

Couldn't get on this when I first tried watching it (picked it up from the TRSI Bargin Bin earlier this year). May have to give it another chance, although it'll have to wait as I received the first Hayate disk and the FMA OVA disk this morning.

I watched the first half of the Macross Plus film last night, really enjoyed it although it does show it's age a little. Great story and music.

Haha, he spent a while trying to convince me I'm the odd one liking Japanese + subs over English :p.

And i will continue to do so. :p

Btw Heroic Age is coming along great, loving this anime, thx for recommendation to the person that suggested it. Any more like this would be welcome. :)

now is there anything other than a cd soundtrack (probably never listen to it) that makes the LE worth the 17 quid more?

Already got a shiny box with LE1

Watched the FMA OVA disk last night ... didn't really think much of most of it. Content sits after series 1 and the movie. Really just found it pretty boring.

Finished reading Welcome to the NHK last night ... hmmm, not sure what I think about it ... very strange manga series which was decidedly odd at times. Also finished reading the new Bandai release of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time this morning. It's similar to the film, (and the presentation is significantly better than that for Lucky Star volume 1), with the same general plot and most of the characters but the sequencing of some events has changed and there are some differences in what happens. Overall I didn't think that the manga flowed as well as the film and at times seemed a bit disjointed.

I'm not sure, probably not a lot if anything with this one (although the collector in me had me ordering it :p).

I just finished Nerima which was very funny, I must admit I watched it in the english dub version, so next time i'll be watching it subbed (I suspect it'll be rather different due to jokes changing etc*)

Re BHK, I've read the first couple of manga volumes (need to get the rest some time), which were pretty good, but not yet seen the anime :)

*One of the things I rarely hold against dubs is if a joke is changed to actually make it work in English/spoken english (I've never quite understood the idea that a dub should slavishly follow the original language version word for word if it means losing the actual reason for the original wording, and jokes, especially puns tend to be prime examples of them simply not translating well from one language to another).

Welcome to the NHK was mint well the anime was duno about manga.

I've got the singles release for the anime and I preferred it to the manga. The manga started off ok but I think they could have got to the same place in the end in 4 or 5 volumes instead of the 8 it runs over.

Ah well, I'll be continuing Hayate volume 1 this evening as I only managed two episodes last night. I also have my Ho-Kago Tea Time CD (K-ON!) to listen too (and may be try and play a long with the small amount of sheet music provided) and I see that my Kannagi Volume 1 has shipped from TRSI.

Really running out of manga to read at the moment though having zoomed through my back log

Finally finished Gurren Lagann, the finale was, erm,

Great series, now one of my favourites ever! Surprisingly sad though, especially as it started off as mostly comedy.

Yeah the finale really is over the top...but it works so well :D

The entire series is just a tribute to overpowered and over the top mech anime.

To be honest the over the top theme which pervades certain parts of the anime is something which turned me off from it. It's ok but it's not going to be particularly high in my rewatch list.
