**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Hutton is quality, he's just been unlucky with injuries; I definitely don't see how you'd prefer an untested 19 year old (talking Walker here).

Spurs certainly have a lot of RB's! Order of my ratedness:

Corluka, Hutton, Naughton, Chimbonda and Walker (back on loan to SU).

Well, I can only go from what i've seen of Naughton and Walker, and what i've heard of Hutton. Hard to make a choice, but I am confident that Naughton will be your best RB before the end of the season. He just gets better every game, haven't spoken to anyone that's seen him more than a couple of times that doesn't rate him highly.

Time will tell I guess but when he was fit I thought Rosicky was a bit of a flop for Arsenal and with everyone fit unless you play him in the centre of midfield then I would have Nasri in ahead of him wide on the right.

How was Rosicky a flop? He was our only attacking midfielder who actually took shots (and scored) at goal instead of passing it yet again. I think you will be very surprised this season if he stays fit.

He would be one of the first on the sheet if he returns to old form. I am shocked you would call him a flop. Unless you are calling his injury the reason for being a flop. Which is fair enough, but never on his playing ability.

just waking up to the Cana transfer, and I have to say its a bit of suprise as a sunderland fan

he is a mentalist and may well end up suspended a fair bit, but he also the sort of player our fans will love, a whole hearted, passionate and tenacious midfielder. I ssupect he will be made club and team captain almost immediately as we have been lacking a leader on and off the pitch for a few seasons and this fella looks like he fits the bill

Don't make judgements on 2nd hand opinions. ;) I imagine he is as good as you say and that is a great thing for Spurs, if Hutton is over his injury worries then there will be a great battle for a starting spot.

:)

Which team did you watch last year?

I watched the one who struggled for goals for about 6-8 weeks in that poor stretch and we've just lost one of the best CF's in the world on his day - and we don't have the defensive makeup to eek out too many 1-0 wins.

Sure Adebayor was a sulk for the majority of the season but he was genuine world class when he wanted to be.

Eduardos fitness is still undecided largely, we all know RvP won't play 40 league games in the best of scenarios so at some point are we going to be relying on the likes of Bendtner for goals??? i'd say most likely is the outcome of that question.

I am going to be pretty dissapointed if another good striker isn't brought into the squad but that's not likely to happen. It's hard not to feel like this will be a tough season especially after Nasri/Eduardo news.

In regards to strikers, I'm disapointed Jay Simpson hasn't been given more of a run out for the senior team. Everyone else seems to be given a chance...

Its a bit early to say he isnt getting a chance. He has only just come back from loan, Wenger normally uses them as cup strikers after the loan spell, so I dont think we will see much of him until next season.

Have Sunderland got Cana? I was hoping that Arsenal would grab him, he looks like a no nonsense type of player and looks highly entertaining lol

I agree to some extent about United's midfield, and I think it's an area that will be worked on over the next couple of years, presumably with Giggs/Scholes winding down the amount of matches they play.

I can't really agree on the whole "selling our best midfielder" though - even though on the team sheet Ronaldo was deployed as a winger, he didn't really play as a midfielder, more a striker? ;)

i get the feeling wenger will stick with song and denilson in the middle , song would be first choice for me ahead of denilson as he had a good spell towards the end of the season ?

Yeah I dont think we will be getting anyone now. I was hoping that we would pick up some bargains at RM with them trying to trim the fat as such.

Especially after reading that Wenger believes that football is going to be hit by the recession. That translates to, sorry fans but we arent spending any more money.

Well never mind. I am still looking forward to see how we get along. Lets just hope we can have an injury free season :)

Its the slap bang in the middle of the park driving force United lack.

What do people think of Vieira to Spurs?

I think he'd fulfil a similar job to what Davids did, being more useful off the pitch than on it; but still offering a good option if needed. I think Carrick benefited from Davids, as did Lennon who became more of a team player with a better work rate.

He doesn't look to be the same player from his prime but his leadership and experience should rub off on the younger players, that alone would be worth him arriving.

If it happens is another matter of course, depends if Milan and himself want silly money; in which case they can keep him.

:)

I can see Ade scoring against Arsenal now.

Mind you I can see Tevez scoring against United too :p

It's gonna be a funny old season.

Well its true. Hes gone there for the money and we sold him for the money.

There is a lot of change at the club, it would be a big ask to blend in the first season and knock out one of the top 4

I am just laughing my ass off at the comment from the person on that site saying hes useless, and no one would want to buy him :p
