Hi , im pondering getting a SSD for my OS (xp x64) and a game or two, theres so many on the market right now and im not clued up on them so thought you knowledgeable folks could point me in the right direction

Im only looking for a 60/64gb model right now and a drive that has trim support as i believe thats needed to format/delete old files ?

budget of £150 MAX

thanks :)

Cant go wrong with the falcon, rebadged vertex at a cheaper price.Very happy with mine
See there out of stock tho so if u can find the extra £2 the Agility has the same spec but unsure bout trim support fot it but would have thought most new drives will support it.If you dont care for the fastest spec get the kingston n save £50

There is a Samsung SSD for £92 on a competitors site! I have just bought two of these from Duke for £70 so will let you know how they run when they get delivered this week!

Wait a day or two to get prices on the new Intel G2 drives. They do an 80Gb one that should be within your price range.

Wont they be the non PB22-J model, which is slower... doesnt that model suffer the stuttering problems, which is why the released the newer PB22-J??

No. The first gen SSDs from Samsung never suffered from stuttering. That only applied to J-Micron controller based SSDs. Samsung used their own controllers with 64MB cache and has Read/Write of 90/70. The PB22 range doubles the cache and improves on their previous controller with Read/Write starting from 220/120 with the 64Gb base model.

My personal opnion is to wait for the new intel drives to hit the selves.
They have a 80GB version and you should be able to snatch one up for about £30 more (more storage and better speed and not much over your initial budget).
