After 2 hours full load on prime95 as the temperature never went above 66C for overclock 4GHz using 4 cores, 4 threads with lower vcore at 1.184v with a push-pull fans of 1371rpm and 1369rpm. I use 21.0x, 191MHz and 4011MHz using intel turbo boost enabled and set extreme performance enabled as well. With a two x Noctua NH-U12P fans with a Prolimatech Megahalems Performance CPU Cooler with MX-2 thermal paste. You can even see there is a 100% full load not 99.5% but a maximum of 100% full load at all time for 2 hours.

I am happy with this result without any crash. I am going to try to get HT enabled now with all same setting to see what the temperature is like after 2 hours.

Hope it won't crash with HT enabled on.

Intel Burn Test, just google. Much quicker then prime and stresses more.

5 runs for a quick check. 25 runs, you've got it pretty much stable. 75 runs (about an hour) and you've got a very stable system.

Ok cheers for that. I will run IBT after I had done HT enabled for 2 hours prime95 and then will run IBT on 4 threads then 8 threads but which one is best to get stable test eg: 5, 25 or 75 ?

I probably use 75 instead.

Try 5 runs first, if its stable at that then try 25 then 75, otherwise you'll waste a lot of time just waiting for it to finish.

I had now completed 2 hours full load with prime95 of HT enabled with same setting as 1.184 vcore. Temperature not bad at 76C.

Going to run IBT on 5, 25 and 75 on 4 threads and 8 threads now. So far, no crash on both 4 and 8 threads for 1.184vcore. Wish me luck.

IBT all passes without fail ! on 4 threads and 8 threads. I had now saved all the profile on the bios. Happy with it now. I can't be bothered with 4.2GHz. Left alone with 4.0GHz is good enough for me with temperature staying below 76C.

Not mentioned, but make sure you have an front intake fan as well.

With my Q9550, it has reduced temps by 5-8 degrees. I was hitting close to 70 without it.

Has done wonders with the HD4870 as well, stays cooler & less noise from the stock fan! :)
