7.9 now is the highest.

The only thing bugging me in windows 7 is really the way folder views are set. Because 7 goes awayf rom virtual folders I find many folders under their parents tend to share the view settings so if I change a folder under my documents (after setting the "documents under /user/me/" to a watched folder the folder directly above it will share the same view setting and vice versa.

Also new windows in explorer all open the same size and if I resize one they all size accordingly.

Is there a setting to get folder views and sizing back to how it used to be?

Eugh, ClearType off. Don't see why you would. I don't own a high-res screen so I can see the individual pixels in text!

Sidebar is an issue of preference... personally, I think it's a piece of junk that wastes space. Maybe you could use the Google Sidebar? It's better anyway.

Launching new instances: I think clicking the mouse wheel works? Can't confirm because mine is broken :p

Taskbar animation: annoying. First thing I did was went into the advanced system settings and turned it off, just like I do with the minimise/maximise animations.

Taskbar transparency: looks really good in my opinion.

I'd imagine it's down to two possible reasons. One is that you're using an older driver version than him, and the other is that you have a multiple display setup, he is using a single display.

Meanwhile, RC's downloads are still available. You can get the release candidate download until August 20, 2009. just got my grubby mits on 7 for the first time today and i'm really liking it. as i've been offline the last few months i wasn't really aware of what new stuff it has. but it's all good so far -with the exception of the new taskbar. that'll take some getting used to. :p

Does anyone know which version (E or non-E) will be turning up on MSDNAA for my University?

I want to install W7 RTM and not have to do it again :/

Or another question is, will a Pro key work in both E and non E versions?!

Since installing W7 ive had a really annoying problem with my DVD drive. I eject the drive, then it just goes straight back in, and ive gotta keep pushing the button until it decides to stay out, and even then its a ticking timb bomb waiting to just go back in. Anyone got any ideas ?

i have a problem with quicklaunch toolbar , it dissapears everytime the system reboots and i have to enable it everytime again , does anybody knows how do you enable it for good ?
