FS Mountain Bike Suggestions

GT would be my first choice (because I have a massive soft spot for GT mountain bikes) followed by the Specialised.

I'd pick the Yukon out of those. You'd be better off with a hardtail for teh price though, or 2nd hand FS

So looking at the Giant Yukon or GT Avalanche. Anymore feedback or suggestions before i get it this weekend.

i got a gt avalanche 2.0 last week for £370 delivered from paulscycles.com, a, very pleased with it, i just need to tweak the gearing slightly because if it jumping sometimes.

the bike is super light compared to the generic full sus tesco bike i used to ride and feals so much better in quality

I know I said I'f go for the Yukon out of the FS options, but I'd pick an avalance over any FS at that price point.

Depends what condition it's in, if the rear shock requires a service for example it will cost around £150 I think as scott shocks are only done by one person in the uk. Also those genius style bikes have a problem with the connection between the chainstay and seat tube though I am not sure of this as only seen it on a mates genius. If you can view the bike and take a mate who knows about these things then give it a go. Otherwise for what you want to do and bearing in mind your new to this then go for the GT Avalanche as mentioned, the frame can be upgraded as you go and has excellent gemoetry. Mate is still racing his and I have borrowed it as a spare bike for various 24 hour races and found it to be a great fun and capable ride.

Basically get the avalanche and upgrade bits as you decide to in the future.
