Just never got into it. Have been a Winamp user for years and ever since I've been able to sync my iPod from Winamp I've no need for iTunes. I do occasionally try iTunes out, every new major release or so, but I just can't get away from Winamp.

Guess I'm very similar really, just the other way round. iTunes was the first Music software I really used. I've tried switching to WinAmp but found the effort required to set it up wasn't really worth it when I don't really have any major problems with iTunes.

I'm sure it is a much more flexible lightweight piece of software, I just don't have a reason to switch.

Yeah guess we are similar. I've been using Winamp for so long I can't remember when I first started using it. And like you I can't see why I need to change media player when there's nothing wrong with Winamp for me.

Winamp. Mostly because it's the player I've used for ages.

I'll admit today though, had I wanted a player without having ever used one before I'd probably have gone with Foobar.

i use foobar. nothing else comes close. even in it's default state with no 3rd party plugins it blows everything else away. and then it's plugins take it to another level again. i can't see myself ever using anything else. :)

Foobar2000 for playing.
Mediamonkey (Gold) for organising/tagging/sorting/transferring to DAPs.
EAC for ripping.
AlbumArtAggregator to get album art.

Most of the time I'm just playing music so I suppose that would be Foobar2000. Quick and easy to create playlists and by far the most responsive player I've tried. Never used to like it due to the time needed to set it up for the first time but that's changed relatively recently with a default UI that's very easy to set up.

As for the others; iTunes is irritating with its background processes/asking to update when you're not even using it while also being pretty slow (no need for me to have it installed, no iPod here) and Winamp is a little clumsy for me although I have used it in the past. Just opinions, I'm sure other people get on with them just fine.

I use winamp to play my music, but love mediamonkey for its organising capabilities and for grabbing cd art and correcting any spelling mistakes. dBPowerAmp is what I used to put all my cd's on the PC, i love seeing my quad core powering through, converting them as well!
