Cancel your Orange contract now!

Way to admit to obtaining goods by deception, or possibly fraud.

To everyone who has a mobile phone from Mobiles.co.uk and is considering cancelling; Orange do not pay us commission on contracts ended within a certain period of them starting, therefore the mobile phone you obtained from us (and the free gift) has not been paid for. Without returning the phone and free gift Mobiles.co.uk have no choice but to request payment for these goods from the customer who has them.

This is why we have Terms and Conditions (which *must* be agreed to prior to you submitting your order), to protect our business and employees.

Happy to answer questions about this issue, but using it as a pretext to cancel your contract and keep the mobile and/or free gift is dishonest and illegal. It's no different to
clawing back payments for perfectly good products via your credit card issuer.

HTH
Ben

I purchased my contract from Mobiles.co.uk on the 29th of June, Orange have issued my PAC code, I have not terminated my contract because I no longer required it, Orange have due to their change in terms which will affect me as I often dial 08 numbers and may have exceeded my allowance at some point.

Orange said just keep the handset, Mobiles.co.uk have no way of knowing, but surely if Orange are agreeing to cancel £900 month old contracts then they should still honour commission to retailers for cancelled contracts, allowing customers to keep the handsets?

With friends like this, who needs enemies eh? Thanks Orange :(

What networks *should* do and what they actually do are rarely the same, as all of you are no doubt aware :)

I know, both parties have terms and conditions in place to protect each other, Orange don’t seem to care about the retailers who are providing £500 handsets in these cases.

Can you confirm if what Orange say is true in regards to keeping the handsets after a month? Or can you somehow confirm that Orange will still pay the correct amount of commission to Mobiles.co.uk for each cancelled contract?

Is there any point of me cancelling I am getting 600 minutes, Unlimited texts and Ulimited BlackBerry Internet for £15pm

Just gave them a call. They wanted to just disconnect me without even seeing if they could give me an offer to keep me!

However as I am not due an upgrade until 9th August, they said they couldn't change my tariff now. However she did credit my account with £5 for unlimited internet.

She tried to see for me what kind of offers I could expect, and for 400 minutes with unlimited texts and internet I was looking at between £15 and £20 per month with a new phone.

I'd gladly stay with them for that price.

but if you want the hero, i8910 etc don't be suprised if they want like £100-£200+ for the handset unless you're one of those people that spends a lot on their contract each month.

just got the text a few min ago, trying to decide if I should cancle or ask if they can knock off £10-£15 off my montly cost(currently it's £29.37/month).

Chris the £900 pr month contract is it a consumer or a business contract I've got 11 phones and pay£400 a month so £900 is some some going if its not business (my mortgage is only 700)

Hi Mattyg, the contract is a 24 month contract, in total its around £900 with the cost of the phone etc, it was also at a guess.

Have you managed to cancel your business phones yet?

Orange didn't know their CS guys were letting customers cancel. Left hand.. Right hand...

Investigating now.

I see got it now been mis-reading it.

My case is a little more complicated as I'm also in the middle of suing my dealer. I did have judgment but he has now had the judgment set aside. With the weakest defence Ive ever seen. I dont want to say much more on an open forum.

As for cancelling contract Orange aint gonna make it easy and so far the information is about consumer contracts not business ones. So I need to go in fully armed with all the info.

I have no problem with Orange and dont really want to cancel. Its only If I do my dealer will have his commision clawed back and I'll feel better about being ripped of for 5K

Then I will immediatly signed another 24 month contract with orange so they keep my business

ok, phoned up, armed with all the legal mumbo jumbo. The cs rep asked me if i had received my txt msg, I said Yes, got the txt about an hour ago !, she said yours is not due till next week. I said well i have it here.. so she let me disconnect. Got may pac coming.. I`m of to a t-mobile/o2 1 month rolling contract... main reason I`m happy this came along was due to poor orange reception. Used to be ok before (I was on a 18 month contract back then)

02 currently has £100 Cashback until 3rd August via some cashback schemes on 12month contracts

800m
1600txt
Unl Data
£19.58/mth

thats on one of the Simplicity offers.
Can i mention the cashback sites here?

Mobiles guy confuses me. Any issue his company has with regards to comission clawback is surely a contractual issue between the retailer and the service provider. Orange have materially changed the terms and conditions - under Oranges own T&C's, this allows customers to cancel without penalty and retain the mobile equipment. It is entirely Oranges problem and doing - not the customer and not the retailer. I'd be suprised if Orange retained comission for a handset sold and then cancelled under term 4.3 (And how I know it well, cancelled two Orange contacts way back in 2001 when they began charging for 0800 voice...).

my missus received a text about this today, she only gets 200mins and 500texts for £30 a month :(

can i cancel it ? as most other net works do much better deals.

Actually I cn see where he's coming from

My dealer got over 5K commision for my sale out of that he needs to take the cost of the handsets and the cashback(well what he should have paid me instead of ripping me off)

All in all leaving around £800 no my dealer prob paid out £900 for the handsets if i cancel my contract and orange take back all his commision then hell be down the £900 for the handsets and the little amount of cashback he actually paid me.

Thats why Ben isnt happy.

I can understand why he is a little miffed

I would like to add after re-reading my post Ben is NOT my dealer
