HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

It's the paid applications with copy protection that do not seem to be appearing on the Hero's Marketplace for some reason.

There is a topic about it in the Market's help group but no response from a Google employee yet.

UPDATE: The email I just recieved from HTC blames Orange, possibly the modifications they have done to the firmware blocking it.

Hmmm... I hope they get it sorted. Here is an extract from the link you provided.

The same problem seems to have happened with the HTC Magic when it was released in Canada on Roger and T-Mobile on AT&T.
For Rogers Magics it seems to have taken about 3-4 weeks for the fix but was quicker for T-Mobile ones.

Hopefully that means they'll be able to enable the Heros quickly.

trying to download orange maps for the free sat nav but it says the phone is not supported. is orange maps working for anyone else at the moment? because its a new model does it just take a couple of weeks?

any answers much appreciated ;)

After having my Hero for a few days I have to say I am loving it. It is a bit slower than the Magic which I used to have but not enough to ruin the experience, battery life is definitely improved as well.

Got my Hero :D Just downloading some applications, I'm loving it so far, no slowdown in the menus at all, got my 16gb (class 6) sd card coming soon so hopefully it'll be even faster then :) easy to type with and this is my first touch screen phone. Nice case material (I guess they're all teflon?).
