*** The Pre-season Thread ***

What an absolute sham of a performance, even if it is a pre-season game. You can tell Benitez wanted a result of some sort from it after putting out a near first 11 during the first half, but it all went horribly wrong.

Hopefully, and I stress the meaning of that word, this will show Benitez the massive rift of quality between our first and second teams.

The so called "New Babel" who has supposedly tripled his efforts in training and renewed his focus and determination so far during pre-season has looked, pretty much, like the same old **** Babel we're all used too.

As for Degen, just shoot him, please somebody, for our sake and his. I actually think its more probable that someone mixed his name up with a talented young footballer and ever since this fake Degen has just been happily going along for the ride.

Still needs pre-season like everyone else.

You better than anyone know though that when a player is on his way out managers generally dont give them minutes - Berbatov barely got any games during your pre season last summer

3 - 0

Wilshere with his 2nd

Got to be man of the match for 2nd game running :) Hes gonna hit the premiership with style this year

Yeah the boy was something special thats for sure, we were all like....who the **** is this guy?! lol!

Anyways I'm just back up from my wee trip down to London for the game and had a bloody fantastic time. The stadium really was something special and it was one of the main attractors for me to go and see it.

Sure we got beat 3-0 in the end but I was quite encouraged by our second half performance with Novo/Miller/Naismith causing a few problems on the break.

Really would have liked a goal in the 2nd half but alas it wasn't to be.

Can't speak at all today from the ridiculous amount of singing going on in the Rangers end but the only thing that disappointed me was the lack of any kind of chanting from the Arsenal fans :( Was expecting a great atmosphere between the supporters but we just created one on our own! :D

Is this what happened because of the move from old Highbury when everyone got seperated and stuff?

Just heard VDS had surgery on a finger and will miss the start of the season. Utd fans, does this mean Foster will start (Ferguson seems to have implied he'll get matches this year ahead of the WC), or is Kuszczak in with a shout?

Foster is ahead of Kuszczak in the pecking order, but not my much. Kuszczak is a great saver sometimes but lacks the authority the defenders infront need and doesn't have that consistency level.
This is a good injury for England/United future goal keeper as he's yet to have a string of starts in Red so the confidence isn't there yet, he just needs 1-2 good games and then people will be writing about him.

Strange Liverpool selection again. Only 2 first team players starting with only a few days until the season starts

Don't know why Ngog and Voronin have both been given another chance when Nemeth and Pacheco haven't despite playing well.

Yea, slightly strange. I'd imagine that Gerrard et al will play the entire 2nd half and more or less the whole game vs Atletico at the weekend.
