Battlefield 1943

I've completely stopped playing this game. I dont know why. Can anyone explain to me why? :p

No idea why but I stopped after the first week or two as well. I still play it with friends about once a week but I rarely play it by myself.

I guess it just isn't a game you can play full-time a la COD/Halo.

That's the feeling I get as well. It's so simplified in terms of classes, maps and gameplay that it's completely killed the replayability for me :(

So where does one go from here? It's my first experience of a Battlefield game so what's coming up next that I should look out for?

Personnaly I think there should be other maps added and other clases. Also it just seems very 'cap one flag go the other cap that' game play.

It is ok, But I bet I only play for 30 mins at a time then it's off.
Not bad fun for £10 granted. But sometimes you need more.

Got a PS3 like a week after buying this game and it's not got a look-in since. Just been so busy with KZ2 and Infamous (awesome game).

Need to get back into it this week, cause I did find it wuite fun :)

Still playing this multiple nights a week. Just broke the 10k points mark and level 20 yesterday.

I prefer this to games like COD and KZ2 as there are no perks/benefits for those on higher levels/ranks. So anyone can jump in and play on a relatively even playing field.

The learning curve is just about right as well imo. Generally I am not the best as FPS style games, but I still manage to do OK, by doing assists and capturing bases and the odd kill. As yet I have no kills as a sniper, but after finishing last in most games for the first week or 2, I now finish in the top 5 most maps (which is not bad considering I get sub 7 kills most maps).

I really wish the Air Superiority mode was left out though and replaced with another "normal" playable map. Leave the flying only stuff to Warhawk, which does it much better.

Yea couldn't get into Air Superiority at all.

Planes on the normal maps are awesome though, especially for transportation. Flying across the entire map in seconds and parachuting down directly onto an enemy flag is a laugh!

True its easier to slip in and out of game and all the the perks you get on kz2 and cod 4 just put new people off , but only been playing 1943 a few hours and its same old bf2 watered down version .
The number 1 reason peeps stopped playing kz2 no aim assist , and i like a good challenge so will keep playiing it even if i do get clans try and dominate me just cause i have OcUK tag .
Dont get me wrong i do like bf1943 and do enjoy it and the appeal is that you can go on there on your own and still come of with a good score but in kz2 teamwork is a must , and for someone who liked cs source kz2 puts a smile on my face even if im getting hammered :D
must just be me .

I think a couple more proper maps would have gone a long way in this game.

I think I'm getting bored of it due to how easy it is/how stupid everyone seems to be.

I must admit I do get bored and act a bit silly now and again. I create a suicide bomber jeep and just drive at random into things. Sometimes it works and sometimes I get killed. But I have a good laugh doing so.

Its easily the most accessible MP console FPS out there which is the main reason why I like it. KZ2 (and the like) with its player type upgrades and the like make someone like me question why to bother playing a game when Im so behind regards unlocks...

Give me KZ2 with large open maps and Id be interested in attempting to catch up with unlocks...

ps3ud0

It's not that, it's how easy it is to rack up the kills as no one seems to be able to shoot straight, or spin around in circles after I hit them once, allowing me to hit the follow up shots easily.

What are your stats? Presumably you must be on a really high level with an insane amount of kills?

The only people I see dominating like you on PS3 are people with really high ranks (Level 40 onwards). A lot of the really high ranked players, that I have noticed, seem to favour the plane. Are you any good in this? That is quite challenging if you find the basic game too easy.

I posted here to save answering your question on PSN :) I need to get back into KZ2, but having a really low rank and not being that great means I will be up against people much better than me and with more perks etc :(

I call it using a gamepad. :D I'm totally rubbish at aiming unless someone is frozen to the spot and the recoil doesn't help at all.

Well having bought this on it's release day and not really touched it, I've been playing it all day so far and was on it last night. It's good fun! If you don't take it 'too' seriously, you can pretty much find at least a couple of enemy players who match your skill level. I learned to fly the planes properly this morning which was good fun :D but some players (usually those who can't actually fly them) spend most of the time camping them so if I can't get in one, I go practicing my rifle skills :).

If you want a serious online FPS, don't play this. If you want to have a little fun, this does the job nicely.

No, I hardly play it.

I only have about a 2:1 ratio as I play with krono and alrik a lot :p Unfortunately average stats mean nothing on my accounts as I spend a lot of time messing around in games.

I play rifleman, and I don't dominate the score boards as I don't use planes/air strikes (easy vehicle kill points) and tbh I don't capture a huge amount of flags.

Agreed. It is one game i don;t mind jumping on and off for, even in small bursts. I think the fun/accessibility/playability/price is just right tbh.

Ah Ok. fair enough. How many kills do you actually have then? You can check on the BF1943 site IIRC. You implied you got loads of really easy kills, so I was just wondering what the number was.
