The *Official* Eve Online Thread

The Lokis are more expensive no? :) I haven't checked prices this week, but I could swear they were over or near a billion for the hull.subsystems?

Well I had about 3 days left on my Gallente Strategic Cruiser V just before my sub ran out. Hmm new toys are always a good reason to resub. Think I will destress a bit more on Planetside first though and wait for CCP to get this stupid resub thing out of the way.

Hey fellas, there anyone here in a good UK based corp that needs members? Or maybe interested in starting a new one?

I'm well active in the game but it's just me and my mate playing it together really. Could use some more socialness. Cheers.

hope your not being serious..

The prices have dropped a lot at the moment, was looking last night and its about 300 for the hull, and 80 to 200 for each of the 5 sub systems :p
But the 1.5 patch is going to be coming shortly (on sisi now) and this will bring it down more

Looking for pvp? I'm part of a small UK corp, 6/7 of us. We empire war dec and WH :)

I just installed and signed up for a 14 day trial, any reason I can't connect to server? it says it patches 11am-12pm, it's well past that now. (I can't post on eve forums yet)

Any tips for a newbie? I've played loads of mmos, currently reading through the eve newb forums, it's hard going.

It's an hour behind - downtime for us is 12pm to 1pm daily.

The main thing is to FINISH THE TUTORIAL!

You'll be in the rookie channel by default, keep an eye on it, there's load of useful info to be had.

Then join a friendly empire based corp as soon as possible, that's the quickest way of getting the know the ropes.

Thanks, they should change the message from 11-12 gmt to 12-1 gmt.

Right, time for this tutorial...

Erm no...remember were currently GMT+1 (BST) ;)

So downtime occurs at 11-12 GMT = 12-1 BST ;)

Good Luck, Eve I would compare to Marmite...either you'll 'Love It' or you'll 'Hate It'! :)

So far so good, first 5 minutes was figuring out how to block the isk spambots :D

I'm still trying to figure out how to change the font size on all windows, I can't read anything at 1900*1280, had to switch to 1280*1024, now there's not enough space for all the windows.

Tutorial is fun though.

i think the Loki is one of the more expensive T3 ships atm havnt noticed a large price drop in them. Though im not really watching the market atm since buying my Proteus, cant wait till the next patch hopefully it will bring the subsystems down to a good price, this along with the sized rigs should hopefully mean its quite cheap to switch around subsystems and rigs.

You've got balls flying a T3 ship in wormholes to be honest, I've been privvy to 5 T3 kills in wormholes now, 4 Tengus and a Legion. Unfortunately I've missed out on actually ninjaing on the killmails due to always being too many jumps out - but hearing the reaction on vent when one is spotted is enough to ward me off flying mine too much inside of wormholes for the time being.... except the occasional completely OTT gank

Keeping your wits about you and an eye on the scanner isn't always foolproof either. A gang I run with typically bubbles the WH exit during the probing, unless the guy inside has access to a POS or has another means of escape he's in trouble really.

Are any OCUK'ers currently in a corp that is recruiting?

I am a low skilled player (main combat pilot and a mining/industrial alt both sitting at 2.5m SP), but am looking to experience more of the game. The corp I am currently with has been very, very inactive for the last month and I have all bit given up hope. I am looking for some large scale, low sec if possible, action and whatever else. Willing to direct my training in whatever way is needed to experience new content.

hehe ive had this trouble a lot. People see a T3 ship and just want to gank me. I even had a geddon shoot at me in high sec that was a laugh. Worst ive had so far was 2 Onyx's bubbling my wormhole out with a nighthawk when i was warping too it. landed right in thier bubble and had to slowboat about 15k while being webbed to the wormhole, with them trying to bump me out the way lol.

I survived that ordeal and now i scan out all the WH's in a wormhole so i have multiple exists and note where the nearest planets are for a quick scan. Might invest in the Interdiction Nullifier sub next.just need to improve my tank so it only needs 6 lows first :D

That must've been quite an adrenalin rush :)

Nullifier sub is probably a good idea if you intend to play in wormholes a lot, at least that way if you spot probes on scan you can just warp to zero on the wormhole safe in the knowledge you'll go straight through the bubble.

Better to sacrifice some DPS/tank to keep a 1bn+ ship alive.

OCUK corp has a "no PvP" rule as far as I know.

The corp I'm in (which is in the Overclockers alliance) is less strict, but I've recently been getting some grief for my negative security status. :(

OCUK channel is relatively quiet most of the time too which is a shame.
