Ashes Cricket 2009

I have no idea how to play this game. Anyone having problems with setting up a pad? When I go into controls and try to assign a pad, the menu is barely useable (takes like 30 seconds to scroll up or down).

The game feels good, best cricket game yet, potentially. More sim than arcade which I like. Blic and EA cricket series were abominations imo.

Its got more depth in all areas. A few things need fixing tho, for instance; the AI batsmen tend to be rather suicidal with their running between the wickets :p but maybe thats been fixed for the full game... Been playing the demo with that demo expander and had a few really fun 20 over games which gives you more of a feel for it than 3 overs. Will be buying this for sure.

To the guy above, I use my wired xbox 360 pad with it no probs, not sure how to setup other pads tho.

I found EA Cricket to be VERY Sim and TOO difficult for me and I normally prefer Sim over aracde any day.

The recent BLIC games were pants. Good for a few games then got boring.. QUICK.

EA cricket feels like sim, but it really isn't, it's just so awful you can't do anything.

I used a 360 controller but it was slow in detecting it.

Had a go with the extender on.

They stopped running so suicidally, primarily because they knocked most of what I sent down to the boundary :D There also seem to be issues with line and length - too much bounce on full balls and not enough on short balls. Also the last part of the outfield is like quicksand or something the ball comes to an inexplicable halt.

Don't think it spoils the game but it would be nice if there are some tweeks in patches after release.

The commentary also called the ground North London  I thought it was fully licenced but there you go.

Hands down the best cricket game ever to come out was the original BLC on PS1. The game was light years ahead of its time.

Ashes 2009 looks just another rushed cash-in game. Saw the video and motion capture is laughable considering BLC all those years ago nailed it. I still remember the bowling action from that game and it looked similar to Shaun pollock's.

I say just upgrade the original BLC, give it a lick of new paint, update stats and we will be happy.

It was a great game but it was slower and had more bugs than this one. My favourite was when the wicket keeper scrolled sideways and didnt come back until you had sent a few deliveries down for 4 byes via the sight board :D
