Is it such a bad idea to go out with a friends Ex?

My friend went out with a girl for a year but has long since broken up.

Through one of the many social sites bestowed upon us these days, a close friend has got to know her and is now seeing her behind his back.

The dilemma - should I mention this to my friend or let it go? :confused:

I think the thought is probably to save the single party unnecessary hurt or embarrassment. I would tell my mate if only to make sure he's not blind sided by it, if he so feels that way.

It's you doing it really, isn't it?

That "close friend" line doesn't work on me.
 
I'd advise the friend who is seeing said girl to speak to his mate about it. Its no good if it carries on and then he finds out through someone else.

Even so, at the end of the day it has nothing to do with the mate/ex.

Why? Are people not allowed to know other people and date who they like once they are single? :confused:
 
I'd tell the guy doing it that if he didn't tell her ex then I would.

Just hope that he does, cos if you get actively involved then you're gonna lose in every single conceivable way.

It's wrong to do it behind his back, it isn't wrong to do it. Depends what he values more, poon or mates. It's bro's before ho's.
 
Erm mate loyalty mean anything to anyone?

It might be hard to tell your friend, but think if the role was reversed and you were in the dark. Obviously its not clear cut as everyone is suggesting in this thread as the mate seeing the ex would have let op's friend know if there was nothing dodgy about it.
