15½ hour shifts

15hrs sounds mental.. how many hours is your commute?

I used to work 4 on nights 4 off. 12hr shifts. That was okay physically... but can't really imagine doing 4 x 15hrs mate sounds well harsh. Are you sure you can't find anything else?

Money is important but you need your health to see the benefits of earning it!

Yup I would if nothing else was about. But like someone else said, I would take a laptop and do a distance learning course and work towards something better. (And snoop around the offices :D)

the place i work the guards are on £7 a hour also.....

i am covering this weekend for a guard so he can have night off

love covering weekend shifts due to saturday is time and a 1/2 sunday double time £148 for a 12hour shift which is spent playing on laptop and a walk around site every 2hours

But I bet the job is semi skilled or manual work.
Not sitting around unsuprvised pretty much doing what ever you want.

I wish it was. At least back working machines you had something to keep you occupied. Now it's simply sitting around making sure everyone is doing their job, doing paperwork/spreadsheets and covering my section manager while he goes out for around 10 fag breaks a shift. :p

Is it even legal to do 15 hours of labor?

My contract says I can be flexed in to work up to ten hours per shift. Being one of the first in and one of the last out that never really happens though. I did do 16 hours last christmas eve but that was to earn the right to have the day off on boxing day.

not really for those wages as i'm pretty sure you'd get paid more per hour for working at a supermarket overnight.

Yes but you have to be on your feet all night lifting boxes around, which can really tire you out.

This you just sit on your ass listening to music all night, and have a walk around every now and again.

Whether that'sgood or not depends whether you want to get fitter, or get a fat ass.

if I didnt have a job I would take it and at the same time look for other jobs, seriously, what you got to lose?

I have done a 36 hour "day" in the past but that was generally the exception :)

My best was 40hours over a friday and saturday with one of the shifts being a straight 23hours stood in a pit, now that was a test of my mental condition

id do it yes

im currently a security guard working on film locations. i work a minimum of 82 hours a week, and that can be for 4 weeks working every day min of 12 hours a day. but then i might get a month without work. so yes id do it as i take everything that is thrown at me, you dont know how long work will be about for in the security game

saying that i do get more money than that for doing it. plus i get the choice of nights or days when available

Pretty mental hours! My dad used to do rotate days/nights and backshifts. 12 hour nights used to be the killer, always stayed out his way for them! I think that was pretty heavy manual labour though. He says nights **** your body up quite a bit.

I'd like to think i could do it,longest shift I've done was 11 hours though! Open til close. Sometimes i do 8-8 and I'm ******. That's only building and fixing bicycles!

When i was 19 and bored, i worked on a checkout at Tesco from 7am until 10.30pm. I was trying to earn £1k in a month using my hours and overtime. I was £50 short or something. :o
