Isnt Wolfenstein Released today???

Just been reading it also incorperates the console versions checkpoint system as well. :rolleyes:

Im just awaiting the pr rep popping up to state how the pc version wasn't a port and had lots of attention given to it. :rolleyes: Seems to have been more of an afterthought than anything.

What i don't get is why cant they make the game on pc a pc game, then port it to consoles and make the changes for console like health regen etc?

Well the team responsible for the multiplayer part of the game, Endrant Studios, are laying people off.

"We have recently completed a development cycle and have regrettably been forced to make adjustments to staff and headcounts," said a spokesperson for the studio.

Doesn't exactly fill you with great expectations for the multiplayer, does it?

It was the developement teams first job and while working on it couldn't proove they were up to securing more work, based on what they had achieved so for or were expected to achieve.
 
If any of you still have it on pre-order and they haven't posted it yet then for gods sake cancel the order asap.

It's shocking in every sense of the word. Even as soon as you look at the options menu before you even start the game you can tell it's been ported across from the console version as quickly as possible with absolutely no pride involved.

As for the gameplay and graphics words fail me.

Cant believe what they've done to a fantastic title.

Could forgive them for poor graphics if the game was anything like by beloved ET but this is poor.

What is up with those fake annoying german accents and the absolutely terrible voice acting? And either vsync with delay or tearing?
 
Great, literally the only game I was looking forward to this year is probably a dud.

Will reserve judgement until I get it (posted today so hopefully tomorrow), I guess nothing said so far has really hyped it up all that much so I'm starting with fairly low expectations meaning anything half decent will be a bonus :p
 
Still no reviews? Whats going on, its out in the shops on friday and no one has reviewed it? seems a bit bizare to me.
 
Was this the game they tried to encourage sales by some guy saying he'll pay for your copy if it outsells Madden 2010? In retrospect they must have known it was a dud don't you think?

wolfenstein
Dissdia Final Fantasy
Batman Arkham Asylum

Looks like Wolfenstein is the only dud, and ill eat my hat if the other two are duds which im certain there not.
 
Had a quick blast on this when i got home from work today.

All i can say is, its not to bad actually.

The graphics and physics are pretty good, not the best but good.

The story so far has left me wanting to play more when I get home from the gym, so that's a good sign too.
 
It seems ok. Nothing special but it's not bad.
I've just heard that it's pretty short. Probably not worth buying unless you can get a cheap copy :/

Wolfenstein franchise well and truly written off. Shame, they had so long to make a true classic.

There is absoloute uproar over at the Wolfenstein forums, perhaps on an afterthought they fired the MP team to make it look like they had done something worthwhile in regards to the shambles that is multiplayer.

Another dissapointment.

Had a look for myself after reading this thread.

Graphics are nothing to write home about and the gameplay is far from interesting.

I'll leave it installed but certainly wouldn't recommend this for purchase....
 
Glad I cancelled my pre-order a while ago as this could have been awesome but I suspected it would not be special enough to justify the licence of the wolfenstein name. Only reason its released this week is to tie in with the new Tarantino film with nazis ;)

Devs + publishers need to realise that nowadays you need to craft top quality games otherwise word gets around and they fail quickly. For the PC especially you need top quality gfx + sound + high FPS + smooth gameplay and decent controls otherwise don't bother pressing any DVD's its a waste of money and will sell few copies.
