:(!!!

WHY?!?!?? The original film was absolutely unacceptable, like.. Really... Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't recall a single remake that's turned out to be superior to the original (especially when they both feature the same writer and director...), so how is this going to be better? :(

I know it's all about the moolah and what not, but this news just depressed me. All of the Hellraiser films (yes, I've seen them all, I have a rubbish life :() were slightly less enjoyable than inserting a stanley knife into one's rectum. This can only be worse.

Thanks guys!!

I've never read a Clive Barker book I've actually enjoyed, nor seen a Clive Barker movie adaptation which impressed me. It's all B grade drivel. The man is horror's answer to Enid Blyton; just a stream of mass-produced drek from an uncreative mind. I tried to get into the Hellraiser series, I really did. Got as far as #2 and decided there was no point in continuing to #3.

Get a life, Clive. And preferably a job which doesn't involve inflicting your awful rubbish on an undeserving public.

Oh dear .... While the first hellraiser wasn't the worst thing ive ever seen, this is utterly needless. I can only hope Yahtzee reviews this in the same style as he did for barkers brief stint in gameland, Jericho.

While I do agree that the movie adaptations of his books are usually crap, some of the books themselves are quite good. I especially liked his his short stories in the books of blood series. The story that Lord of Illusion was based on was a favourite.

Does anybody remember the ending of the first film? If so, can anybody explain to me why that random stranger that you see for about four seconds on the middle of the film, turns up at the house at the end and then turns into a gargoyle? That was the most pathetic thing I'd ever seen... Until I saw Hellraiser II. :o :(

he did atleast one game around 1999 aswell :p

Please don’t make this, it won’t be any better than the original, you can’t be that hard up for cash.

I'm actualy quite interested in this.

I really loved the idea of Hellraiser and was just dissapointed with the way it was portrayed. If they can remake it and delve more into the story then I think it could be quite good.

The first hellraiser wasn't all that bad, the sequels were appaling though.

This is how it is now, I have accepted it, it will be remade again in another 10 years.

It's about time to remake Slumdog Millionaire isn't it..

I enjoyed the Hellraiser series.

1, 5, 7 and 8 (think they were 7 & 8) I quite enjoyed. The rest were awful though. 3rd went a bit too action style.

Really shouldn't be remaking these old films any more though, no good can come of them :p

All these remakes prove one thing.... writers have run out of ideas... All the good films ideas have been used to death and so they are trying to rake in cash by remaking the past .... DOH!

Eh? I thought there was only 3 with the last one being the big statue thing at the lads night club.

2 wasn't too bad. Pretty gory as I remember. "The doctor is in" "I recommend....amputation!"

I think it's gone far past 8 now.. there was an online only one a few years back.

I just stopped watching at 8 :p
