(watches) what do you prefere to wear?

I don't understand why you feel the need to whinge. Besides a couple of spelling and grammatical mistakes in the OP, it's perfectly legible. Learn to read better. Unless he's edited it, in which case, my bad.

Anyway, I prefer metal.

Learn to read better? Right back at you my friend; I've explained it's down to implied attitude rather then text-speak. How hard is it to throw in a bit of punctuation or even write out 'question'? Seriously.

Notice if you will, that I don't get disgrunted at those who make an effort even if their spelling or grammar is poor. There is no excuse not to at least try when you have a keyboard at your fingertips. I can't imagine what was so important he had to sacrifice those precious fractions of a second.

what has your pride have to do with anything?
i asked a simple question, if my spelling wasn't correct, big deal, live with it!!.

what more effort did i need? the question was to the point, No?, did you want some long winded essay?
others managed ok to give me an answer.

is there really any need for the insults?

This post here is more of an effort. Maybe I've woken you from your slumber? I don't know. Either way, this is acceptable. You've even made an effort at rough paragraphing - I'm proud of you.

There are no personal insults here. I'm merely pointing out what you came across as, not what you are. Please don't confuse the two. I have nothing against you as a person or a poster; I just wish you'd continue to make more of an effort in future.

I've got a Nixon watch with a leather strap and it's comfortable. Although I'm looking for a second watch with a metal strap for more formal occasions, possibly Seiko or Swatch.

my question was to the point, i got answers back, i am not looking for any praise.
did i not come across as someone that wanted a simple question answered?
i dont need, or want a literature lesson. even if you think i do.

no insults?, so why the reference to talking to 14 year old girls?

i will make the effort i think i need into a post, not what you wish i would do.

your right you cant, so don't!!

if i was someone that was maybe dyslexic i would be pretty insulted by your posts in this thread, you didn't know that i wasn't, so it was pretty harsh to say the least.

On the right watch, leather. However, as leather stinks after a while, I always go for metal.

Neither Metal or leather.

Metal links break, rust and generally will fail at some point.

Leather looks crap, will start to fall apart aswell, and will also abosrb bodily fluids over time and start to stink.

Its all about the rubber, i have a Citizen Eco-Drive for my every day watch and a Suunto D9 for diving both are rubber strapped... obviously as a diver rubber straps have their added benefit vs. the salt water but aside from that i cant stand metal or leather straps, i think they both looks crap and are not as robust as the rubber.

No, you're just lazy. Half the dyslexics on here tend to be very precise. You really have no excuse not to originally put the effort in do you? It takes seconds to write out the word in full, as intended or to whack on a full-stop and to space out paragraphs so they're easy on the eye. If you struggle so much with the basics of our language and its presentation, perhaps you should consider some evening classes. If you have really bad dyslexia then it is also in your favour to install a spell-checker is it not? Many people on here suffer from it and I bet you wouldn't even know unless you asked them. If anything, I think you're being harsh considering they have to try so damn hard and you just type with one hand on your gentials.

The reference regarding the 14 year-old girls is simply just that: they're the only posters on the internet in their mass who choose to post in the same illiterate style you chose. Quite frankly, I'm surprised you didn't put a kiss on the end of your original post. It would've been quite fitting considering you seem to think this is a mobile-phone extension.

Anyway, I'm done here. Don't think I really want the UBs throwing their tea on me again.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but was it really worth bothering to whinge about it? If you can read it, what's the problem?

you don't know me so don't accuse me of being something i am not, except in your opinion.

And how can you really criticize someone, and then put "UBs" and not be able to spell "genitals" there are spell checkers you know? (watch for the edit guys).

As others have suggested, depends entirely on the watch. I have a diving watch that lives on a metal bracelet mostly, though I also have a rubber strap for it. My more modern 'formal' watch is on a metal bracelet, but I also have a vintage dress watch on a leather strap, as it's more appropriate to the style (and I don't expect to be doing anything sweaty while wearing it).

What watch are you looking for a strap for?

it was not a strap i was after, i had two watches in mind that i liked equally, so it came down to straps, but after reading about leather getting a bit smelly i went for the metal watch.

thanks for input on pros and cons of each type of strap.
