Isnt Wolfenstein Released today???

Really not sure whether to get it but best bet I guess is to hope for a mod for the MP from what ive read.

Anyone tried the patch does it fix anything from the leaked beta?

The beta had consolised controls to say the least - no vsay, no weapon banks, had to use F to revive/lay dynamite etc. no strafe jump etc.

Im hoping theres enough potential in there for someone to mod it.
 
After reading these posts I wasn't expecting much... The game was waiting for me when I got home and after installing it and seeing the pretty poor graphics in comparison to other games I almost turned it off. I forced myself to play it for a few minutes.. that was 3 hours ago and I've been playing it ever since and really enjoying it. My only concern is the Single player game is going to be very quick and I reckon it will be finished in 2 or 3 nights, I'm not going to complain too much though as I wanted to complete it by next Friday in time for Batman :)
 
i think most of the moans are regarding the mp side of the game.
the sp isnt bad at all and i prefer it to the original rtcw which i didnt even like but the biggest let down for me and so many others is how ******* **** the mp side of it is.
i waited years for rtcw2...in my eyes rtcw was the best team based fps game there was and this what they have done is just ****.
 
Shame, I was looking forward to this since I could do with a game to get stuck in to right now. What tends to happen more these days is that I'll happily play a game - when the price drops rather than a few years ago where I'd just hand over the 25 - 35 quid.

The multiplayer could be average/good once it's patched or modded. At the moment it's laggy, feels rushed and just playable, frame rate poor even on a GTX285 at full settings at 1680x1050!

We need bigger maps with more players, plus animations as you fall down dead (already posted that but it makes the game feel so cheap).

The menu system is awful, extremley UN- user friendly, you'll find you will spend more time battling that than enemies.

However, it could be a good game with community input.

I'm disapointed because RTCW was the game that got me hooked to MP FPS. A lot of people feel let down and the vast majority of reviews which give it an above average score clearly never played RTCW!!!

i played it yesterday, the single player is great fun , graphically its good but no improvement on world at war engine, only the explosions from grenades seem better, the textures look good on the chars but buildings and objects seem rushed, i love the weapon upgrade stuff and the mission based play style.

i loaded the multiplayer up and spend 10 mins looking around low res textures laggy feel bugs etc etc no wonder some staff were sacked, lets just hope they will bring a big multiplayer patch out.

all in all i love the single player and the sort of game wolfenstein portrays a good ww2 blast ! recommended for sp not mp.

Then you clearly haven't played the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer!!

RTCW online was an absolute classic, so naturally the sequel is expected to at least match the original experience, not fall short by a huge margin!
 
I've also bought it for the single player, so if it's good from that angle I'll be quite happy with this. For multiplayer, it is rare for something to lead me away from my multiplayer game of choice at the time. For instance RTCW multiplayer was good, but not nearly good enough to keep me away from Quake 2. My current multiplayer game of choice is TF2. Wish they would bring out out a Q2 version of Quake Live...
 
Forgot I'd pre-ordered this until it arrived in the post today. Sent it straight back under the distance selling rules. Too many fond memories of RTCW that I don't want to sully :(
 
Had a go for a while and i think the single player is a bit of a blast not as bad as i thought good for a laugh until something new comes along.
