I Cut My Finger DEEP

Put my hand out to stop when running across playground at school (was about 8 at the time) and put it through a window. Sliced open my wrist and nearly lost the use of my hand. I don't remember much but apparently my mum had to hold me down on the hospital bed whilst they picked the glass out and tested the nerves weren't damaged. Quite a bit of screaming apparently........... Even now it still gives me a bit of jip and I can't bear someone grabbing my right wrist.

I got smashed in the ear with a bottle at hull fair whilst visiting a friend 17 years ago.

It severed my right ear straight down the middle and it was held on by a tiny flap of flesh, the end result was having 120 "micro stitches" to hold it all together.

The doctors were worried that it may have damaged my inner ear etc but fortunately it didnt, it was purely a cosmetic thing other than the fact that when my ear is cold i get earache in that ear so bad it makes me feel sick.

Because of the quality of the stitching there is barely a scar now which is kinda good, but kinda not.

coming off my mountain bike due to my front wheel hitting the kerb while riding on a busy dual carriage way, because i was looking at a pretty airplane.

knee and ego injury

I put my thumb across a deli slicer once. They couldn't sew the tip back up so they snipped it off.

Fortunately, the angle of my thumb was such that I shaved the top left fleshy part off and not any bone. My thumb is shaped a little funny on that side now but other than that, looks normal now.

I stood on a wall that was only about 2ft high (made from the bricks you see on modern housing estates) that had another wall of equal height on the other side that ran along a foot path near our house. I tried to jump from one wall to the other with both feet together and my toes just skimmed the edge of the other wall causing my shins to scrape down the brick ledge. The skin on my shins looked as though they had been peeled open (like when you open a tin of corned beef with those daft little keys) as the skin looked as though it had be rolled up my leg. The pain was incredible. I almost passed out but my mates' howling of laughter kept me conscious even though I was wishing that death would just come and take me away. I was doing one of those have laughing, half crying things that you do. I wish I could have seen that from my mate's point of view as I think I'd have wet myself laughing:D

holy thread revival batman, i think youll be glad to know my finger is healing well and i think ill end up with a decent scar

When I was a kid, had a huge wart on my foot, so I took some scissors and cut a patch of skin including the wart itself.. but it grew back, so It obviously wasn't deep enough, tried again about 4 times with scissors and cutter, and I cut it quite a bit deeper to make sure it didn't grow back.

Theres also one time when I was running barefooted, and when I got home, I realised I had a huge chunk of wood thats stuck in my toe sticking out at the side, pulled it out myself.

Theres also when I was running whilst wearing shorts through an opened wooden gate, and the wooden gate for some reason had a concrete nail sticking out of it, so the side of my knee got stabbed and it slashed all the way through the back of my leg, could see the bone.

also
broke a rib and knuckle
got stabbed by a pen through my upper abdomen
got smacked in the face by a knuckle duster
lost my toe nails a couple of times
cracked my finger nail on my middle finger and index finger with a hammer
had about 1/2'' of someone elses finger go in my eye and injured my eye with his finger nail (made my eye swell really bad for a couple of weeks
accidentally cut my wrist with scissors
had internal bleeding which made me **** blood and eventually, dried blood (chunks of it coming out)
cut my fingers a couple of times with a kitchen knife
cut about 1/4th of my thumb at the side with a machete (could see the bone)
twisted my ankle
had alcohol poisoning cause I drank about a whole case (12) of 500ml redhorse beer non-stop, all bottoms up one after another, (couldn't see anything, couldn't think much of anything, felt like no air coming in my lungs, couldn't feel my whole body), but still managed to walk home, sleep it off and felt great in the morning without hangover :p
an oven exploded infront of me as I tried to light it (gas had been on for hours) and lost almost all the hair on my body
poured boiling water on my lap which included my private parts.
4x4 ran over my foot and parked on my foot for at least 1 minute, didn't notice it until I tried to walk, so I just stood there, looked at the driver and explained the situation calmly, after that he drove away from my foot :p FREEDOM !! lol

all of these did not cause much pain for me (most of them, I did not feel at all.) except for the ****ing blood bit, the injury to my eye and the boiling water bit. but I'd imagine that they would be considered quite painful.

I was chopping cucumber with a butcher knife and I sliced into my thumb, about 5mm. That's the only time I've really hurt myself. I freaked out a little bit and pestered the good people at my local surgery until a nurse would see me. With hindsight, I probably could've bandaged it myself. It's been a good six months since I did it and I still don't have feeling in the tip of my thumb.

Interestingly, human skin cuts like cheap bacon. That's all I could think of at the time.

When i was a kid me and my mate planned out a track round the street, we used to go blazing round on bmx's, one day we both took a corner at high speed and hit some old lady :( all 3 of us ended up in sharp bushes and she had a broken collerbone and i fractured my wrist.

I havnt broken any bones properly.

I have punched a mirror and had stiches.

Spilt hot curry over me and burnt all my chest (still have the scars)

I accidently pressed the foot pedal on a sewing machine and the needle went through my finger. I should have held it down so it came back out but I dodn't so I was essentially pinned to the machine. :(

Had to unscrew the needle and go to hospital. ah well I got the day off.

Tryed to adjust a fan belt while the engine was on?:p

i was making a new hole in my belt with a folding knife, low and behold it folded on my finger, went in about 1/2 cm, didnt really hurt as the blade was v sharp, but its right on the bend, so is a pain in the arse more than anything

wots your worst self inflicted injury?

WIFE 1.0!

No, I've cheated tbh.

I was born like that (along with a hole in my heart!) a bit of a "Friday afternoon model" you may say! :D

Although I frequently wind people up with absurd reasons why my hand is the way it is (don't play with pipe bombs etc....):p
