No, he's posted quite a few times about going out and getting very drunk and also doing silly things when drunk. I just thought it was rather bizarre that he can quite happily brag about not following that particular tenet and yet claim that he'll quite happily try to follow this one even though it's going to be difficult for him.

And a liking for the herb I may add.

Ramadan is the easiest thing in the whole world. From a food/drink point of view it's basically just skipping lunch. I do it every couple of years just to deflate the egos of Muslim friends who try to claim like they're doing some Superman style heroic deed. If you're not a cake-eating fatty fatty then missing lunch should not be difficult. You're not going to get dehydrated either unless you're not in England or you're doing some ridiculously physically intensive job.

Im a non practiscing catholic myself, but i was over in birmingham for work for the last week, i noticed the mosques were very busy this evening, gotta say they are absolutely beautiful buildings.

I got my manager at work to fast for one day last year. He almost died, or made out he did in the evening, headaches, feeling sick etc.. took the next day off to recover ;p

More like skipping breakfast and lunch. Going without water is the hardest part, food anyone can handle.

You can still have breakfast - you just have it earlier. Going without water for ~15 hours is not hard unless you happen to live in Egypt or you work as a gym instructor (IMHO), many people do that every day without realising if they're particularly busy.

easy is it? nah i dont think so mate, u have to cut off drink/drugs/sex/alcohol and food from 4 in the morning to 8 in the nite.

not easy.

I am not a Muslim but I understand this is an important time and endeavour for you guys, I wish you well in your fasting time.

First fast for me today and already im suffering :(:p...due to the fact that i smoke but in a way im glad its fasting season as i can now try and give up the dreaded cigs for good...not hungry or anything just dying for a cig lol.

Ramdhan mubarak to all muslims.

LOL, I have to laugh at this pointless endevour, but each to theiur own and if it makes you happy then good luck with it.

I consider myself God, so thanks for the support bitches.

why do you have to keep fasting every year. surely the first couple of times you do it. you must get the meaning and guilt of what it is like for people to go without food.

also mention the devil and his jinns being locked up during this month. so no bads sinn and everyone goes heaven

can someone explain this.

i think they are using weak chains and locks, cause there are muslims that dont fast and stuff their faces and see them at clubs drinking their heads off LOL.

im telling you when it gets to the summer. there will be a real test of faith for the proper muslims. i bet no one will fast when they hear they have to break fast at like 10pm or some madness.

IN THE SUMMER 35c, can you imagine.

Then your a pretty **** God wouldnt you say??..perhaps you should STFU:).

Going without water is stupid. Putting religion before health because you've been told to do something....

Most Muslim's I speak to don't even know the reason, they just say "they have to do it and we won't understand".

Not drinking alcohol because it "controls the mind", but quite happily smoke weed etc!

Makes perfect sense..... no!

in most liberal muslim countries, they all drink and smoke.

they only fast and pray in ramadan . or shall i say they only become muslims in ramadan

its become a westernised islam of late for younger gen. same way with christianity, people only ever become religious when its christmas or easter etc

puttin religion before health? its only for a couple of hours more of not eating or drinking, anyone can survive it.

Yes anyone can survive it, but I know people who don't drink during ramadan but still go to the gym etc, dehydrating themselves for the day, which while not life threatening, is not good for your body at all!

Likewise, by old technician used to fast during the day, and then absolutely stuff his face in the evening to make up for it, which is COMPLETELY pointless!

But as I said, a lot of people only do it because they HAVE to because of their dictatorial religion.

Ermmm you do realise that humans can go without water for quite some time before their health suffers:rolleyes:...sure its hard to go without water but its not causing any muslims major suffering or harm...also remember that if someones feeling ill or not well then they must break their fast right away...and if your ill or suffer from bad health then your exempt from fasting.

If most muslims you speak to dont know why they are doing it then they must be pretty stupid not to know the actual reasons for fasting.

They are correct on one thing...you lot wouldnt understand the reasons why muslims fast for 30 days every year and i sure as hell am not going to go into the reason why muslims are meant to fast...

Ermm its already summer:confused:...and i havent seen the UK get to 35c this summer...also the sun doesnt set at 10pm but much earlier...you do realise that days are getting shorter right??.

I can bet you that plenty of muslims will continue to fast whether it breaks at 10 pm or 10 am.
