Those people are stupid then, they obviously know you need a lot of liquid when at the gym why would they keep goin when fasting?
 
Spawn, serious question, what do you think of those Muslims who fast during Ramadan, and also give up their 'sins' during Ramadan, but for the rest of the year, they go clubbing, get with numerous white women, and frankly treat those women very badly etc, smoke, and some even drink?

When I was at uni nearly 9 years ago, the number of Muslim boys treating their non Muslim girls badly was astonishing. They even bragged about it, "well, it's not like I'm going to marry any of them so who cares...."

I do understand Ramadan, but feel that in this day and age, many Muslims only partake in it because they feel obliged to, not because they believe in its true reasons.

I also know of many Muslims who break fast, and then do not carry out what they are supposed to to repent for this, eg feeding a poor person for the number of fasts that have been broken, but will still preach to others that what they are doing it worthy of great virtue!!
 
Also, what do you think of those Muslims who believe that Ramadan is the time to increase jihad activities, because they believe Allah will help them with greater power during this auspicious time, and those Muslims that have recently killed their fellow Muslims in Somalia, Algeria, Iraq etc during this time?
 
They participate in fasting because if they didn't some loony extremist family member would probably kill them.

At least that's what some old news reports would lead me to believe. ;) I still remember that woman who got stabbed by her father (I believe) for doing something their religion didn't approve of.

If you read my other posts in this thread you'll know I've done it several times, partially to make the point that it is really very easy and that people who claim it aren't are just trying to monger sympathy where there really should be none. You really find it difficult to go without drugs sex and alcohol for 15 hours? That's not exactly normal is it?

Haha, excellent. If you drink and take drugs between 4am and 8pm and find it hard not to then you need to sort your life out.

Are drugs and alcohol even allowed in Islam in the first place?

i think they are using weak chains and locks, cause there are muslims that dont fast and stuff their faces and see them at clubs drinking their heads off LOL.

Christmas is highly debatable, mainly as to whether it's actually a religious festival anymore.

Plus having a holiday and giving presents to friends and family (which Christmas essentially is for the majority of people) is a little different to Ramadan.
 
Yes Christmas is also stupid, it is now just a commercial tool and a time for families to get together etc.

Most religious occasions are now flawed beyond all recognition.
 
This is ridiculous.

Overclocker's muslim forum members wish each other well on a cultural event in their calendar and the thread gets jumped upon with the typical lack of respect I've come to expect of this forum.

I can guarantee if this thread were celebrating a christian event and muslims provocatively and arrogantly insisted that the christian faith be justified, the moderation would have went a lot differently. Is it any wonder tempers are becoming flared? It's a shame that this forum continues to be allowed sullied in this way. It's bad for the community and for the brand.
