Stargate yea or nea

Brilliant show...right up until the moment that Richard Dean Anderson took a back seat. Soon as O'neill was gone and pretty boy was in place the show went into oblivion through a stargate.

I partially agree, but I didn't think it was all that bad after Season 8, I kept watching. Atlantis was pretty good as well.

I guess I see it that way because for me O'Neill MADE stargate. Without him I seriously think it would have been a 2-bit scifi show and would never have lasted as long as it did. When I think about the top 10 episodes of stargate for me, every single one of them has O'neill in and not a single one of them comes after O'neill

Ill go google farscape and babylon 5.
I think ive watched some episodes of farscape from what i remember theres a blue woman and its all set on a living ship.

Is star trek any good, i remember watching one of there films first contact and loved the enemies they were fighting i think they were called the dorks and they had a cool dork cube ship.

First 7 seasons are awesome, the best tv ive ever watched.

Last 3 seasons are ok, the two "films" are good as well!

If you enjoyed the first few episodes then it will be a great purchase.

Its better than BSG imo.

Nooo waaay! Stargate is decent enough. The OP will get bored if he's looking at stargate to replace his time spent when he would be watching BSG I think.

Babylon 5.

You should be able to pick up the 5 season box set fairly cheaply. A lot of people will tell you season 1 isn't that great, but give it a chance ;) Season 3 and 4 are absolutely fantastic though. My advice is to watch it all, and then watch season 1 again. You'll appreciate season 1 much more after you have watched the whole series. I find it astounding how much was set up in the first season, i'm still finding things in season one that hint at events in later seasons.

Babylon 5. Particularly the seasons revolving around the shadow war.

This...B5 is the greatest sci-fi show ever made, epic story, the first major series to introduce a massive arc storyline, characters you really do care about and are wholly realistic.

Don't want to turn this into SG1 vs B5...but I found SG1 to be slow moving predictable nonsense that I watched for no other reason than to pass the time when nothing else was available to watch.

Yes...most people turn off after a few episodes of season 1, but power through it, as I said just, it's an arc series so there are a few things that seem pointless but become pretty important further on into the later seasons.

Season 2 onwards is awesome...I think season 2 of B5 was the first sci-fi show to win some sort of writing award...will have to google for some more info.

Just googled it, here's a list of awards and nominations for B5...
