What is this country coming to, and the kids in it.

Obviously theres something seriously wrong with the parenting involved here for a 10 and 7 year old to have such a twisted mind at that age. Cycle of poverty and crime, the area needs regeneration and investment, and as for the children.. they should be taken into care or be put into an intensive rehabilitation scheme while the parents should be looked at by social services or the like.
 
Why on earth blame the parents? Heard of freewill? Kids are just as responsible for their actions as adults.

if things don't get though to people harsher punishments are needed.....afterall.....it's not like we NEED our little fingers is it?

obviously i'm not going to say chop all childrens fingers off if there naughty, but this is just a tad beyond being a naughty child!

Yes but at 7 you are heavily shaped by your parents and the ideals they have placed on you, it might be free will but the parents have shaped their attitudes and will.

And duh the kids are responsible as well as they carried out the actions..
 
I would suggest that the 7 year old was heavily influenced by the older child in this matter. Regardless, the younger child is under the age of criminal responsibility and wont be charged.

Not neccessarily although it is possible.

Children under the age of 10 can still be charged with a crime of it is in the public interest to do so but punishment will likely be through the care syatem and not the judicial system.

Hey...the UK just released someone who murdered 200+ people so you think these scum will be punished for *this*?

What needs to happen in cases like this is hard prison (no home visits, 2 meals/week, no time outside, no TV, gymn etc.) until they are adults then do what they do in places like Singapore - public lashings. Once thats done throw them into the military and pack them off to the front. Lets see how hard they are then.

Until we have hard laws like this our country will continue to descend into the drains. In the meantime UK prisons are like 3-star motels where prisoner scum enjoy meeting mom and dad, watch telly and get big muscles in gymns. Wonderful. Oh wait...we even have OPEN prisons!

Dont hold your breath.

Absolutely disgusting this, read it in the paper the other day, that poor little girl. :(

Its only going to get worse, its about time we said enough is enough and sorted it out ourselves, no wonder when they pop out of the womb these days they going straight to crime, buggers rife, so thats all they see when they pop out, so to them its natural, which crime in this crap hole has now become, its natural, its our way of life now.

Whats utterly baffling is that UK lawmakers dont seem phased by this. It just happens again and again and again and again and again.....

Shock & horror in the papers and the TV news for a week then its back to business....until the next time...and the next and the next. Its almost like its an accepted part of life in this country.

I hear that South Africans living in parts of London describe it as a "mini-Johannesburg" and I wouldnt doubt it.

*Nothing* is really done. All we hear is politically correct rubbish like "human rights", "they need counselling", "put them in care"......Bring back corporal punishment to our country. Oh man what dreamworld Im I in!!
