I offered to get it out.....................for both sentences!
I offered to get it out.....................for both sentences!
Thanks dude. Overall it was a disastrous shoot! I had no ideas for poses or anything (this is really letting me down at the moment) and I STUPIDLY messed up my settings, in an attempt to get a lighter background I was using a stupidly show shutter speed, which on the camera LCD, looked fine (I didn't zoom in to check) but when I got home realised that it had rendered 90% of the shots unusable!?!
Even the above is a little soft! I have a couple more to process which should be ok though, one of which has a quite spooky and 'enchanted forest' feel to it, which is quite cool.
What I would've done to get a lighter background is use Av mode, set the appropriate ISO so you get a decent Shutter Speed, and set it to over expose by 2/3 of a stop using evalutive metering.
Give that a go next time
p.s. Don't tell people you fooked upit gives an illusion you are a great photographer, just as Ramsey don't let people eat food that's not up to his standard.
and the winner of the 2009 fly breast stroke is................
Thanks for the advice, when you say over expose by 2/3 of a stop, do you mean do this on camera? Would this not overexpose her as well?
Or do you mean on my flash? Sorry I'm a bit confused and I'm just rushing out the office so not able to explain myself properly
PS. Oh, and the mouth thing, yeah I agree, I have another shot of her looking at the camera which works well, I just need to process it tonight. I'll post them up later![]()
I dunno - I don't think there is anything wrong with the background - it makes Helen pop out a bit. I personally think it works well.
I know what you mean about the settings - I've previously done a whole set of shots in manual focus mode whilst shooting for a project - DOH. The advice from most pro shooters is to do a complete reset on the camera before each shooting session and get used to setting the shoot up from scratch.
Although I'm going to try and do something with her soon in my living room
I did used to live in Kent. I still do in fact, but I was right on the border with East Sussex so I could easily walk to a different county.
I have now just moved the other side of the border
I will ask her. Have you done many model shoots before? Because it would be great to learn from you if you have experience. My MAJOR problem at the moment is ideas for poses and general model direction.
I'm going to buy some magazines and over time keep a scrap book of photos to get inspiration for poses and stuff like that
Location stuff is all I can do really as I have no studio. Although I'm going to try and do something with her soon in my living room, just a makeshift white background set up or something.
EDIT: In fact, you just reminded me, I have moved again so no longer in Heathfield![]()
First you get it out in the woods, now you're planning on doing something in the living room
This thread is turning dirty![]()
The two you have posted after this are good but this one is a great shot, placement of model and how she has been seperated from the background works really well.
Like the shot very nice but not liking the feet in the picture kinda ruins it for me but then im kinda strange![]()
