Its a bit petty but at the end of the day the store and the specific employee(s) can be prosecuted for not checking ID - the store can be fined quite a bit and employees can be fined upto £5000... so you can't really blame them.

When I was with a friend of mine who's nearly 40 he got ID'd and couldn't get served, sometimes these people on the tills should use their damn common sense.

And lose their jobs?

They're told to id everyone is it worth risking your job to not annoy some random customer.

It's pretty funny. Never been ID'd myself but it's usually the 18-year old till workers that ID you and they look about 12 themselves. I'm still waiting for when I do get ID'd so I can ask them if they have any.

Why were you forced to go home to retrieve the ID if they didn't look at it?

yep, thats what confused me

You're buying alcohol you take your id what's hard about that :/

We were on our way to Vfest and didnt want to take wallets. Just had cash on us and it was on the way from mates house. (why we didnt want to go to another store) We also had a load of other stuff like food so didnt want to look for it all again

Some people even get a little annoyed when being asked for ID, when they actually have ID..

Like it's super effort to show someone the ID that you have on you...

Nothing worse than a customer huffing and puffing over something that takes 2seconds

No, the worse one is when you have to wait whilst they call their supervisor over to authorise them to sell you alcohol because they're under age. :p

sounds like you are the muppet tbh. Most stores have a look 25 policy now so is it really worth her risking trouble on a sub 10quid an hour job?

Lady was probably tired and ****holes like you giving her grief may of really upset her, I hope you are happy with yourselves.

£10/hour working on tills?

Where do I sign up !

You see, some people who work in any supermarket just have **** days, and the way they make themselfs feel better, is to annoy people.

They new you did not have I.D but just did it anyway :)

Happens to all of us

as already said. Didnt want to take it as it would get lost where we were going

Some staff are on power trip and just love to make a fuss over nothing. I think we have all heard the stories of people 60+ being asked for ID. Common sense when applied should be fine and I dont honestly have a problem with people being asked for ID with the 25 rule it makes sense because some people look older then they are. But when people just apply the rule because they are wanting to extend there selling power of ID doom it just makes me want to go nuts.... :p
