Taking up running and i have managed to overplay my Dragonforce albums to the point i tend to skip tracks. Can anyone recommend any bands like dragonforce? Needs to have good solos and fast tempo. :)

I'm going to see Dragonforce on Dec 1st.
Anybody know who the support is?

The support band is actually far better than Dragonforce - and the whole reason I'll be seeing them in Dundee and Inverness:

I present.... Sabaton!

The Art of War

Ghost Division Live

Here's some power metal highlights:

Sonata Arctica - Full Moon

Sonata Arctica - Misplaced

Stratovarius - Hunting High and Low

Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror

Gamma Ray - Dethrone Tyranny

That should do you for now... I'll be back! :)

Racer X will probably be up your alley - they were, basically, the original Dragonforce - a hyper guitar band.

I can't link right now, but search for the tracks 'Superheroes', 'Miss Mistreated' & 'Let The Spirit Fly' for tracks with vocals, and 'Skit Scat Wah', 'Technical Difficulties' and 'Scarified' for without.

Thanks guys, will check this out when I get back on my own PC, work blocks youtube links. Makes me sad =[

Technical Difficulties - love that riff!

Symphony X.

Prog metal > most other metal.

Aye Symphony X are bloody brilliant, for me they are exactly what prog metal should be, but check out these other huge offerings:

Anubis Gate - Kingdom Come

Pathosray - Faded Crystal

Pagan's Mind - Atomic Firelight

"plus special guests Sabaton / Sylosis / Glamour of the Kill"

From the website.

That's the Hearts&Minds section of the tour where they're almost exclusively playing the old (better) stuff, isn't it?

Might have to try and go, I much prefer the old albums to the latest one!

Some great stuff been suggested already, Sonata, Edguy, Racer X. If you like guitar work then maybe try some of the shredders like Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen?

Ignor the pompous gay dude on geetar, well actually the whole band, it was the 80's ffs!:D
