That's crazy. I absolutely adore Kanon but wouldn't in a million years pay £400 for a blu-ray of it.

Ahhh ... but it turns out that it does have English subs according to its page on Pony Canyon ... so that makes it all right ...

There's only, what, 10 weeks until it comes out so if you saved ~£50 a week between now and then you should cover the cost + shipping + import fees

:eek::p

... barring a large lottery win between now and then I'll be skipping this one ...

gurren lagann is great, it's silly nonsense but by you feel pumped afterwards.

I watched the whole of Ah! My Goddess, liked the TV series very much. To be honest i won't mind either way if they make another season or not. It's a premise that is open ended so it can never really ever conclude.

Spice and Wolf on the other hand. Is SUPERB!!!! i really hope this is a long running series

I can see Spice & Wolf going on for quite a while in anime form, they still have allot of content to cover from the novels iirc.

Just finished A__a The Origination. Loved the entire series from start to finish and it got a bit teary towards the end for such an optimistic series :). I did laugh when i looked up the seiyu/voice actor for Alice to find she also voices Kyo Fujibayashi in Clannad.

I'm just starting the second half of Season 2 of A__a and thoroughly enjoying it :)

I pre-ordered Spice and Wolf S1 in Rightstuf's Funi sale, along with Armitage 3 Dual Matrix LE with tin and model as it was in the bargain bin for $9 :) (I think i've got the normal version somewhere but i'm a sucker for an LE, and the discounts sort of made it free:P)

No more new anime DVD's for a few months for me now though :(, just Gurren and Spice And Wolf (and possibly **** if TRSI get that up early).

Yep, TRSI's Funi sale was quite convenient ... used it to grab Spice and Wolf and Bamboo Blade Part 1 :)

Still chugging through A__a season 2 here as well, (don't have much time to watch at the moment), ... hopefully we should see the remaining A__a properties (and Maria-sama season 4) make a DVD appearance in the first 6 months or so of next year (at a guess)

Aye, I think they're hoping for early next year for at least the OVA's.

I may also order one of the lithographs depending on price..

Given that I was eye'ing up the A__a posters on a certain Japanese auction site earlier this year the lithographs are also tempting me ... :)

I think we will have had at least one of the DVDs I mentioned by the end of March 2010.

Any1 know if its possible to get the full saint seiya series with english voice over.

I'd say no.

Don't know if it's had a release in the UK but on R1 TRSI are showing two collections from ADV with English dub totalling 60 episodes.

Wikipedia indicates 114 episodes for the series plus three unlicensed OVAs (with the OVAs being 13, 12 and 6 episodes).

Just started K-On! It's like they took all the moe on the planet and condensed it into 13 episodes. It's one of those shows that makes you have a massive grin planted on your face the entire way through :D

K-On! was an really nice little series and has been left very open for a possible second series. I have several of the soundtrack CDs for it, and have the new one released next month with sheet music on pre-order.

It's moe, It's funny, it's great.

I'll be very surprised if this isn't released on R1 in the second half of 2010 or first half of 2011 ...

Is it me that Naruto Shippudden and Bleach has got much better lately?

Naruto finished the recent spat of fillers and has moved back onto the proper storyline.

I'm not sure why the keep sticking fillers in, they are miles behind the manga.

And Bleach has just moved on to fillers, which I find to be ok. Though I do like in Bleach with fillers they just go "And now on to a different story" as the only explanation.

Or the two episode filler with the princess and the soccer game where at the end Ichigo says "Well this was pointless"

Finished rewatching A__a The Natural .... very, very nice series.

Watched Destiny of the Shrine Maiden (Kannaduki no Miko) ... well theoretically it had a good selection of winning elements; shrine maidens, yuri action and giant robots .... but in implementation it just didn't really click together, the plot wasn't really that clear on what was going on and why and the different elements didn't really gel.

Time to be a bit controversial :p

Had my usual Sunday morning bit of CrunchyRoll viewing and watched the latest Aoi Hana which was nice. Then ended up watching half a dozen (and a further three later in the day) episodes of Shangri-la which was ok, bit of action, not enough attractive women characters, to many transvestites ....

Also watched the first six episodes of Bakemonogatari as well ... hmmmm ... thought it was ok, but only ok ... the general make up of characters was ok but I found it to be extremely slow not helped by the pseudo-intellectual level of the constant talking ... I've watched animes before with a lot of talking and not much action, hell some of my favourites are like that, but this really feels that it's up itself some of the time. Also at times it felt like the Endless Eight had more per-episode plot development than this ... I'll probably catch the rest of it but it's not the next big thing and I can see why. It's a shame, they had the right elements to make a very good series but they're just not using them. It's over half way through it's broadcast run (total 15 episodes, only 12 of which are to be broadcast and the others to be shown online) and you could some up what has happened in a single, rather short, paragraph.
