Old School pc games

This and Track & Field and double dragon killed off the coin OP market.

Not really. Arcades were very healthy in the C64 days. I'd say it was the advent of PS1/home 3d hardware that spelled their doom.

Anyway, back on topic...

Little Big Adventure 1&2
X-Wing & Tie Fighter
Most of the 2d Lucasarts adventures
UFO Enemy Unknown
...and way too many more.

Dont think anyone has said GTA 1. All the others are rubbish. GTA original was by far the best

My friend - GTA1 best game of the lot!

I remember spending hours on end stealing cars and taking them to the docks for $$ and then stealing a police car and ripping it through the streets with the frame rate limiter off :D

Anything 3D accelerated (Glide, OpenGL, Direct3D) is not old school IMO!

DOS f-t-w

I remember not worring about system specs at all with dos games. So long as you had a 486/Pentium PC with enough conventional memory (Tweaking Autoexec.bat and Config.sys) you were fine!
Then Windows 95 came along and the upgrades started rolling in... :(

Corridor 7
Fallout 1&2
Baldurs Gate 1, Tales form the sword coast ,2 & throne of bhaal
Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis
Indiana Jones & The last crusade
Kingpin

...still thinking of more

how about if it wasnt but then a version came out and it could be?

Games like myth, take no prisoners, motoracer, ultimate race pro, screamer rally and the legendary NFS2 SE.

NFS2 SE was one of the best games ever in 3dfx mode. 3dfx made unreal look and play 100 times better. The first time i saw unreal in 3dfx on my mates £2000 computer i almost jizzed myself! (we were just watching the menu flyby screen for 5 minutes then started playing and it got better!)

Starsiege Tribes
Doom
Quake

They were all brilliant but Tribes was my favourite, shame that the days of games like those are long gone...
