Spa-Francorchamps - BELGIUM Grand Prix 2009 - Race 12/17

Incident to be investigated after the race? WHY BOTHER... they crashed.. get over it..
stewards trying to justify their jobs?
"Hey look boss, we investigated EVERYTHING!"

My thoughts exactly.

They get rid of mid-season testing and then when rookies end up crashing as they have so few miles in the car, they complain.

Wonder if that is the first time the same team has come 1st and last place in a race before ?

Didn't Jake say in Valencia that they thought it was the first time ever Ferrari had ever been "plum last" on the qualifying grid. And Badoer did that twice in a row!

Badoer, with the help of Ferrari is intent on setting these types of (anti) records. Given that he is obviously such a poor performer, where total rookies are outperforming him, surely, he should now hand his seat over to someone else. The first race he did was a learning experience - fair enough, but to do the same in his 2nd race, is now bordering on ridiculous, especially when you consider that the sister car won the damn race.

Badoer has to be the worst driver currently in F1.

^^ Dop the pointless car highlight cutout - Anyone interested in those technical update articles is going to know which part of the car the part lies.

They show the new shape of aero or placement of other parts and sometimes include arrows identifying particular parts or air flow.

I think he meant the other diagram which shows the area of the car they are talking about for that part. Most the time it is obvious though.

I think it was 2006 when he was there for Schumi's last race. Best quote ever though. :D
Yes. He speaks pretty good English, his trainer is English, and he was at McLaren for a few years. So I reckon he meant to say what he did. Doesn't make it any less hilarious than it was. :D

I always mix up what year it was he said that.

Well the common knowledge in F1 is that Badoer has had his time. After Valencia it seemed that he'd get Spa and that was it. I agree that Kimi winning in Spa doesn't help Badoer much. He was awful 10 years ago so why, as DC mentioned, would a decade of testing make him any better? I wonder if Nelson Piquet in a Ferrari would have been as slow as Badoer? :p

Only as Piquet was dropped before Badoer got a go :p
Can't help but think Piquet would have had the edge over Badoer being more used to 2009 cars and actually having raced.

In fairness Nakajima is looking pretty much like someone whos not getting a drive next year (well at least not a williams...)
I thought Nakajima half got the Williams seat due to Toyota supplying Williams with engines? And that there are questions over Toyota's future in F1. If Toyota quit F1 no Toyota's in the back of a Williams therefore Nakajima loses his grip on the 2nd Williams seat. That and Rosberg's scored all of the points for Williams this season so Frank and Patrick could easily get rid of Nakajima on performance grounds regardless of what Toyota do.

Williams are looking to drop the Toyota engine anyway. probably as they come with the baggage of the driver who is not performing.

Ah so a pre-emptive move on Williams' part then? They aren't sure about Toyota's commitment to F1 so Williams are looking for new engines. Mercedes are probably out as Mercedes will likely have to supply McLaren, Brawn, Force India and Red Bull next year.

So either Renault or Cosworth engines then? They've used both before and I can't see Williams getting Ferrari engines. :D

Has Red Bull confirmed their supplier for next year?
Williams will go to Renault, I hope.;)

I think Renault are the front runners ATM but with RBR reliability problems they might want to steer clear of them. but i don't think Cosworth would get the gig

Mercedes-Benz are becoming the must have engine. they might be able to make a profit on them with the number of teams they are supplying.

Not that I've heard. All I've heard is on the BBC F1 coverage with Legard I think it was saying that there were rumours some people at Red Bull wanted Mercedes but some key people weren't convinced. Would have thought the fact that championship contender Vettel faces an almost inevitable penalty for using more engines than is allowed might swing their opinions to going for Mercedes. I think McLaren will have a decent car next year. Red Bull should be there or thereabouts. Brawn hopefully as well. Red Bull could pull off quite a trick if they can get Mercedes engines; have three top teams contending for race wins all using Mercedes engines so that McLaren and Brawn wouldn't enjoy a power or reliability advantage over Red Bull. :)

Yeah. Normally Williams would go for Renault or Cosworth engines if they leave Toyota or Toyota leave F1. But Renault have reliability problems so Williams won't want them as they'll surely want a reliable car to pick up points if the frontrunners retire from a race. If Mercedes can supply McLaren, RBR, Brawn, Force India AND Williams they probably would, for the money, as you say. Just depends if McLaren veto that or not. ;)

Awww they've censored it :( you can imagine what goes in the gap though :D
I can guess. :p What was the rudey concerning?

I think this more of the thinking for Mercedes. RBR will be fast next year, so will Brawn and McLaren. as the aro package is remaining approximate the same. so the other top team is Ferrari. so 3/4 of the front runners with Mercedes power. That has got to look good on paper.

and when they all fall over in the race Force India can pick up the points, not taking anything way form Fisi win today, awesome drive

Yup. I bet the Mercedes board in Stuttgart would love having RBR, Brawn, Force India AND Williams on board. Imagine the Euros they'd get back into their coffers! It would be quite amusing if Mercedes did indeed supply 5 teams on the grid next year with engines. :D And utterly hilarious if there was some reliablity problem.

Oh and Lewis Hamilton retires from the race. His engine goes up in smoke.

That was Vettel, Button, Rosbeg and Webber going if you couldn't tell!

:D:cool:
