Anyone explain ATI & NVidia fanboys?

You act as if you're a games dev, but refuse to divulge any information which would actually support your claims, which is fair enough. You're entitled to your privacy, but you still appear to criticise anything positive about ATi/AMD.

This is because most of what I have done is contracted development (i.e. hired to produce a specific game level or title) or inhouse testing both of which is covered by NDAs.

The complaints put against nVidia are universally the same. They overprice, they're sneaky, they're liars, rip offs, dishonesty, they try to sabotage their competition. Renaming/rebranding.

This is my stance with it really. Of two cards of identical value i'd take the ATI one, but at the same time if nVidia were to offer me a capable, fast card at a competitive price, I would give that a go instead.

In my experience though, I find that their drivers are a load of rubbish - you don't get regular ones, and when they do I find they break about as much as they fix.

No complaints with any ATI card i've owned. I'll be getting a 5870 but if the GT300 series offer better price/performance I may end up selling and moving over.

I just wish that certain people on this forum who do nothing but troll (there are a few of you around here) would get perma'd so that we don't have to listen to your crap anymore.

OP sounds like an ATI fanboy tbh :D

Far from it, im not interested in a GPU name, i just look at performance & reviews of each cards, then try and get one im happy with which i can afford.

But i must admit im growing a big dislike to Nvidia, partly down to price of the cards, and also fanboys.

Ive yet to have a ATI GPU though, so not sure how i can be a fanboy, but it's looking like my first time will be in next month or so, so heres hoping i don't have first time bad experience:eek:

It's funny, because people like him will then claim that 'Oh, that was a one off' because it makes their claims look like rubbish.

I don't buy nVidia because I'm against what they do as a company, so therefore I'm not going to support their acts by giving them my money.

It's got nothing to do with the cards they make or their drivers.

If I was given an nVidia 295 for free, I know I wouldn't be complaining, I'd use it or sell it for a 5800 based card.

I was not a fan of any PC hardware maker even before i got into PC computing after the XZ80,XZ81,XZ-Spectrum & Amiga 1200 as i don't take others words as is without doing research of my own first.

I would have ended up with a Pentium 4 & a NV card when the AMD Athlon was king & ATI had the better IQ without question.

Over the years NV has put me off with there antics & i will not support them with my cash & cash is the only message they understand.

Crossfire has made me stick with AMD as a platform.

This makes you an ATi fanboy ;)

Are you stupid?

How does disliking nVidia make you an ATi fanboy? Is it automatic or something?

So if I dislike Kelloggs am I suddenly an Nestle fanboy?

It's not like there aren't plenty of reasons to dislike nVidia already.

Ah right, it's hard to get jokes when you can't hear the tone behind it. :o

I thought you were trolling there.

I have owned both brands and I like both. I've been a little unlucky with my last two nvidia cards but when they were functioning well they were great, especially the 8800gtx. I buy what I can afford at the time and what I feel like, I read plenty of reviews first and feel that most of what is posted on this forum helps me make that decision easier, less guess work.

I m more ATI atm...

but that don't stop me from getting Nvida cards, if they was cheap and fast enough

and the reason why there are fanbois, is because you see Nvida everywhere and mostly in entry to a game, like crysis for example, and you can even see the logo on most games.

for a newcomer to the world of PC gaming this takes them over they think that if they have Nvida, they will indeed play the game "the way its meant to be played" but in all reality thats not so.

As for ATI, well actually those fanbois are not as bad at least they have some sense

I don't get it, like a bunch of deluded football fans. Does anyone else get annoyed reading fanboys deluded comments aimed at each other.

Why are people even fans of either surely a case of getting a card that offers most value & performance for you.

This new story of "Nvidia renames 2xx parts to 3xx" IF it's true, why would anyone not only defend them, but still choose them over ATI's DX11 cards??

Seriously are people that stupid? If so no wonder Nvidia act like this, enough fools to buy them, i bet half these fanboys on either side, would buy a turd if it had a ATI or Nvidia sticker slapped on it.:D

Most retarded post ever award, perhapse those people saying "Nvidia renames 2xx parts to 3xx" are the fanboys.
