No. It does on the PC though. I always look at the FPS and then look if there might be better graphics drivers or maybe try overclocking the graphics card a bit more etc. I'll try and google for benchmarks for a particular game and my graphics card/CPU.
On the PS3 I just play the game.
Slightly backwards but thats how it works for me. Most games that come out on the PC at the moment are just console ports anyway and the (sometimes) difference isn't worth the £. Focusing on graphics/detail etc is only one aspect of a game or gaming. I actually find gaming at 30fps better than a game that fluctuates between 35-60. Things like being inside a building and running up to a window and it slowing down as it renders outside etc. Console gaming is very different to PC gaming. things like seamless online/offline gaming make a big difference.
Oh and this console loading times thing. I keep hearing about it but haven't seen it yet. I've only played about 10 games on it so far though. I'm sure there will be games on every platform with long loading times.
