Porsche failed MOT - Quote £1000

oh and re the sebro disks and textar pads I fitted, when the old ones were removed they were sebro and textar as I hoped

Damn, my car passed its MOT at Porsche today with no problems at all. I was hoping to get some value from my Tesco warranty but it flew through with no advisories or anything.

Was a very nice experience too. Porsche call you "sir" all the time, make you lots of free cups of tea and they even took me to the mall so I could do some shopping. When I got bored they picked me up, gave me a brand new 320i to go home in and said they'll deliver my car back to me later (and would sir like us to wash and hoover it for free?)

Not bad service at all considering the MOT was the standard £52 or whatever it is.

they cover clutches due to wear and tear too

Wish I had known that when I had my Trevor, lol :D

/EDIT Just read the policy, TVR are specifically excluded. That was a surprise, lol. Actually, so is my current Jag, as it says it excludes any car over 3.5 litre...

Ouch that's a nasty price off Porsche, although it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Glad you got it sorted for substantially less in the end.

The standard OEM parts on my car are approximately £700 fitted by Jaguar, but when my breaks need doing I'll take the opportunity to buy some much better disks and pads and get an acquaintance of mine who runs a local garage to fit them, he should charge me a fair price. I'm not paying Jaguar considerably more money to fit inferior parts.

a bloody horrific list to get a bill of that size
pitted front brake discs

No surprise there. I have VERY minor pitting on mine (skimmed to perfection 3 months before) and they put an advisory down. Takes the ****.

Excellent result - I have the same warranty myself :)
