Six months in jail for a drunken grope?

I think that without knowing more about the circumstances, nobody here can really judge whether the sentence was proportionate.

this

What would happen if a girl pinched/groped/whatever a guys arse? Oh yeah - nothing.

well then you could pinch/grope her back, everyones a winner?

Think about it your in the pub after a game of footie and wearing shorts you bend down to pick something up and some bloke quickly shoves his finger up your backside and when you turn round he is grinning.

How does 6 months sound ?

Is that really that much differant to what this guy did ?

yeah but thats just funny... and guy on guy, not the same at all

Well Brian Peppers did a lot less but became the worlds biggest paedo for some reason.

Who?

Tad excessive - however I think if it they where your niece, sister, daughter or mother you'd actually think it was fair.

If their skirt was half way up their arses to start with, I would not be to slow in pointing that out to them. If woman don't what advances they should not dress in a manor that invites them. If bending over opens the up grand canyon and you don't what people to explore its depths, wear a Hoover dam or a longer skirt. ;)

Stole £40,000 from a bookies and got 18 months in jail, im not condoning what he did but when you hear about someone speeding and running someone over and getting less, its just not right!

The former is premedidated criminal act the latter was an accident caused by negligent behaviour. Of course they should carry different sentances.

I am wondering if he had any previous convictions that may have been a factor in receiving a custodial sentence.

If it was a first offence and a guilty plea, a suspended sentence would have been my guess.

But I agree with the duration on the sex offenders register.

Really? Ruining any chance of getting a job for the next 7 years?

From the article, it doesn't sound that bad, it's not like he attempted to rape her or carried on going after she noticed. And I doubt he actually touched anything more than her leg, unless she was wearing nothing more than a belt, or the bloke could maneuver his hand through a skirt without touching her leg or being seen. Way over the top IMO, at least going by the article. Without actually knowing what happened, it's difficult to judge.

I find it frightening, the attitude. It was just a leg, she was just wearing just a belt?

Are you saying she was asking for it?

I couldn't care less if he was drunk, (it's no excuse) so I view it the same as if he wasn't drunk. I fail to see how people can fail to controls themselves when they're drunk, everybody makes a tit of themselves but there's a line.

Quite so. Alcohol is quite often used as an excuse to get away with both stupid and criminal behaviour.
