BF2 1.5 patch on 1 September

The link in the first post clearly states what version you have to have installed.

works great for me, to my suprise.

the addition of 1920x1080 makes it look very good for a 4 year old game.

Alt + tab works great to come out of the game but it wont let me back in, I just get a black screen...

Had 1 glitch so far .... joined a server and went to team map info (Key M) to see what squad was where before selecting spawn point. When I did this I was unable to select kit as I couldnt get that screen to show .... also noticed you can still sit in the plant box at Hotel and not get shot lol

Alt Tab working here (Vista 64) .... alt tab out and click on BF2 icon in task bar to rejoin or have to Alt Tab x 2 to return to game .

updated to 1.41, restarted and 1.50 is still suggesting i already have a newer version, i guess i'm going to have to re-download 1.50 ¬_¬, i'm not sure i can even be bothered now

Are you installing the game from the DVD?

anybody with vista hp 64 confirm it'll work now without having to put it into compatability mode???

yeah, why would that affect it? i installed the complete collection but chose not to install the 2 expansion packs (because they're in 1.5 anyway), then patched to 1.41 without problem but wont patch to 1.50, i think the DL may be corrupted though, unless you know something i don't

No i just thought if it was the download version that might be a problem.
Try installing the expansion packs using the DVD.
Might sound simple but try and restart if you haven't already.

Installing BF2 has always been a game in itself, i always hit some kind of problem.

Running Vista Ultimate 64 .... never had any problems with 1.41 and so far none here either ... infact plays even smoother now.

tried restarting and tell me about it, 2142 was/is the same which is why i threw it out eventually, does my head in all this messing around.

For those installing DVD, I could not be bothered, so I ordered a CD-Key which I was able to Activate in the EA Download Manager so just download whenever I like and it self installs. Cost about £9.50.

I then just install the 1.50 patch without issues. The addidtional packs are also installed automatically which is handy.

I got my key from an online store selling CD keys although they have sold out (As have most others selling the BF2 Complete EA downloader keys).

Obviously is only usefull if you have a reasonable internet connection.

Personally, I prefer it to CD.

i give up, i've redownloaded the patch from a completely different mirror, and same thing, i can't be bothered, i'm just going to put the game back up on the shelf where it will stay.
