ps3 better than pc BS

Both have their good and bad points but my £1,000 PC thats about 18 months old is probably getting dated these days and could do with a new graphics card (8800gtx isnt cutting it these days) where as my PS3 and XBox 360 still play all the latest games and will do so for a good few years to come.

Some games are better on a PC some better on a console but a console will last a lot longer than a PC, dont forget the XBox 360 is 4 years old and the PS3 3 years old, how good would a 3 or 4 year old PC be at playing the latest games.

Yes you can upgrade a PC to play the latest games but you can also upgrade a PS3 and XBox 360, Ive already upgraded my PS1 to a PS2 and PS2 to a PS3 and im sure ill upgrade my PS3 to a PS4 when it comes out in a few years time.

but if you notice that when they add up the sales they dont include stream

They don't in the info that gets released to us, but do you honestly think that the devs won't have this figure? If Steam was bringing sales of their games up to the levels of the consoles, then more devs would be releasing PC exclusives. They aren't, which is therefore pretty strong evidence that console game sales are ahead of PC game sales by a strong distance.

More evidence of this sort is that console games get far more space on shop floors than PC games. Next time you're in a high-street game store, compare the number of Xbox 360 games, for example, to the number of PC games. One store near me (albeit one which is more famous for selling music than games) no longer sell PC games at all, while having massive console sections.

Money: You think its better to constantly upgrade a PC to keep on playing current games during its life time? It's much more cost efficient to buy a PS3 at £250 with no upgrades required.

Since when did you have to constantly upgrade a PC?

You do know that games have options for graphics? It's not forcing you to run the highest settings for every game

Meh, you can buy a £250 PC now that'll whip the pants of the current consoles. OcUK even have a pre-built one for £300.

how good would a 3 or 4 year old PC be at playing the latest games.

Let's see, 8800GTX is a 3 year old graphics card yet it can output better visuals than the Xbox 360 and still handles every game out on PC. Yes it even runs Crysis quite well on the high visual settings (at 1680x1050 and below), now I'm not saying you can run every single game out there on the highest settings but it's still a very capable card.

Latest games? Well funnily enough the 360 technology hasn't moved on so why wouldn't it play the latest games? 360 tech wasn't better than the 8800GTX in 2006 so unless Microsoft have upgraded the GPU I don't see how on earth you can say a 3-4 year old PC wouldn't be capable of running the latest games. Maybe you won't be able to max out everything on a PC with an 8800GTX but it'll still pump out better visuals than a console and at a higher framerate.

I'm not even much of a PC gamer, I just don't like seeing stupid points being raised.

my pc cost £600 and i have a gtx260. yet i can play crysis on full with AA and AF so ill be playing games atleast until me pc dies or games become better than crysis, witch will probebly be a few more yrs since iv honestly not seen much improvement at all in gaming graphics since crysis

and no way console lasts longer than a pc, my uncles pc has been going for almost 10yrs now and all hes replaced is memory and gpu (got it when dual cores were the equivalent of quad today.

That's only for the people with more money than sense, it doesn't perform much better than cards over half its price.

As I said the 8800GTX beats current console tech and that can be had for less than 60 quid now.
