Tropical fish tank, a question

okay my tank is a Juwel

It is 2ft long, 1ft wide and 16 inch high. Just checked the JUWEL website and it is
Rekord model: 600
Volume: approx. 63 Litres
Measurements: 61 x 31 x 42 inch

The tank has a filter and temp built into the back right hand side.

I do always clean my filters out in the tank water, when I am changing the water, ie: rinse the filters in a bucket of the water that is being changed.

My pleco is quite big, think he is happy at least, about 6 inch long and the clown roach is quite big about 3 inch long.

Here's some browsing material, wwww.fishforums.net It's got everything you'll need to read up on.

Oh and my Cardinal is fine, deaths door this morning, liveliest thing in the tank now :)

63 litres is to small for most of the things you've bought, it really is only a suitable size for corydoras, tetras, dwarf gourami (and so on). a lot of shops like to sell fish (it is after all how they make money) to unsuspecting people, you should take them back and ask for a refund (or store credit) and then run a fishless cycle.

Totally agree with this, like I said before the kissing gourami's will each grow to a size of 12 inches (albeit it will take a few years for this to happen). If you intend on keeping these fish you will definitely need to get a much larger tank. I have a 115 litre tank and have still stuck to tetra's, dwarf rainbow fish and a red honey gourami.

I told the stupid lady in pets at home my tank size and she assured me they would be fine.....
damn her.

I am annoyed now, that she sold me them if they are not suitable for my size tank.

90% of people in fish places tell lies when selling fish. You have to be your own expert or you will have a tank of fail

White Cloud Minnows are the best tropical fish for noobs, they can even live without a Thermostat, when you can keep them 6 months without losing any, upgrade to guppies

Welcome to the world of aquatics. Where the only advice you can really take as gospel is from people who are not selling you anything!
