Koi Kaze is brilliant lol.

Don't know if anyone has seen this series, but my friend did a song from Revolutionary Girl Utena and it's rather awesome so I thought I'd share:

Just finished watching Lovely Complex

The first anime that actually had me in stiches. Most anime 'comedy' is very flat to me, but this one had at least one huge laugh per episode from me.

Same, cutesy/comedy animes do nothing for me (someone tried to show me School Rumble once and just: NO) - but the filler episodes in Prince of Tennis are absolutely hilarious, I've been lol'ing about in my chair shouting at the top of my voice so many times, the first anime where I actually look forward to fillers.

I didn't think I'd like School Rumble before I seriously tried it, (same with Negima), and after I sat down at actually watched half a dozen or so episodes I quite liked it ... I don't like the "in your face" funny of series like Excel Saga and Paniponi Dash much prefering gentle humour thats part of the story instead of the aim of the story .... for instance some episodes of A__a had me in stiches which isn't the point of that series.

Watched the first disk of Rune Soldier today, (after finishing Koi Kaze) ... I say watched ... really I mean slept through as I nodded off several times so I may have to start it again :)

More You're Under Arrest later ... :D

Excel Saga is an odd one for me, the first few epsiode are a riot, but then it kinda repeats the same jokes again and again and becomes flat. It is the Monty Phyon of the anime world in my eyes, it's just so left field, but then no fresh jokes comes. Which is a pity, Lovely Complex i the first one since that really really made me laugh.

Just started Lovely Complex its quite good so far.

On the topic of good humour/comedy i guess i'd have to say i prefer the more witty humour like in lucky star/hayate. I didn't find things like Excel Saga and Cromartie funny at all when they were shown at our uni's anime society, tthey were to in your face and wtf for my liking. Although speaking of comedy, retro anime like Fist of the North Star is awesome to watch as a group for the lol's.

A__a had me laughing on more than one occasion just because it was so silly and charming in the way it did things. Little things like Akari's "ehhh!" answer to everything coupled with President A__'s antics and the chibis just made me laugh all the time. Simple but effective.

I didn't watch the movie, they seemed to have casted the girl spot on, but everyone else look like rejects from a pre-school show with there ridiculous outfits. If they went down the route of something like "my sassy girl" ie more real life, then they probably would have had an international ht on there hands. The story and premis is strong enough to carry a decent film

Anything out recently that resembles black lagoon? have been out the anime scene since 2007 so not sure whats hot or not.

Nail on the head there mate, the other characters in the show just did not seem `right` compared to the main female lead..Disappointing as i was expecting more from it

To people that dont find School Rumble funny I recommend, if you havent already, trying again and watching more episodes because it gets well better.

For me it all revolves around Harima, he's one of the most funny characters ever in comedy anime IMO. Generally a nice guy who just wants to get a girls attention, but he's constantly misunderstood and out of luck.

Things like when he gives up his fight for love and decides to sacrifice his desires and live with nature and animals, and some of the scenes during the hotspring episode had me in near tears.

Just finished watching Welcome to the NHK! Very good anime, with a sensitive and intelligent analysis of emotions, interpersonal relationships and social issues. Definitely recommended.

Now it's time for Kenshin. 95 episodes... should last me a while. :D

Detroit Metal City! Awesome! I'd heard lots of good things about it, but I didn't think it would be this good. It's just full of some epically hilarious moments :D Can you really fault an anime that has a frame like this...

...followed minutes later by a frame like this?

Good grief, when was that made - and by whom? Looks like it was drawn by a primary school kid about 30 years ago. Even DBZ looks better, and that's really saying something!

:/
