What do your tyres cost?

Last time out I got Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas which came in at £91 a corner in 225/40/18.

Odd that the 18s on an ST are 40 profile but 45 on my ZS which is also 18" - wondering if mine has the wrong size on...

Why waste time with stuff like Kumho's when a decent Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc is hardly any more expensive?

You pay a ton a corner for a Kumho but today I paid £110 each for 225/40/18 Eagle's so is it really worth the bother?

KUMHO KU 31 - 225/45R18 - £82.40
BRIDGESTONE POTENZA 225/45R18 - £134.00

Camskill don't list a goodyear on their page but the difference is more than a couple of quid (on the assumption that most suppliers will have the same price difference.)

Currently got "Prestivo" tyres, which I was sceptical about but they were the best I could get in the time I needed the car back - although they've been surprisingly good and seem to be pretty well regarded. The bill for 4 corners was just shy of £500.

So not only are you driving around on pretty crud tyres you also paid a fortune for them, I guess in future you wont leave tyre replacement to the last minute :p

When they come to need replaced, I'll be back here asking for advice, but they've got a few k on them yet. Where did you get Eagles for 110?

Local branch of Protyre.

High quality tyres need not cost the earth. Cheap crap with a bunch of 'WICKED MATE LIKE **** TO A BLANKETZ' user reviews are not the way forward.

I paid £940 stupidly for 4x Continental Sport Contacts 3 (235/35/R19) in an emergency when I had 4 popped tyres on a bank holiday trip.

They're pretty decent, good grip, dont aquaplane, good road noise etc. Normally I'd get something mid range from a well known brand, but this wasnt last minute, it was an emergency - blowout on one corner and a nail in a back tyre when I needed the car back in the afternoon. Some things are in the hands of the gods like that.

If anything had given me reason to think they weren't of decent quality, they'd have come off long ago, but they've been fine so far.

In retrospect I should have asked them to put on the 50 quid "event" tyres they offered and changed them for a good brand later down the line if I knew it would affect my internet credibility ;)

You'll be the first to know when I need replacements though

Just bought four of these at £156 each plus fitting.(normally about £200).

Got 912's on my prelude, they are bad, very bad, but then every car is a different story so they may be good on your Manta :)
Think i paid £55 a corner for 205/55/r15

I got the same tyres on the 2.0i model, smaller wheels also 195/65/r14 for £48. I found the 912's a lot nicer then the Barum Bravius i had on it before.

Never had you down as the sort who'd cut corners on something as important as tyres.

I don't think Kumho are *that* bad anymore. At least, there is a lot of people on SELOC using them on Elise/Exige's and they report good things.

2 years ago I bought Goodyear Eagle GSD3's in 225/45/17 which were £90 each inc fitting etc.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta on the RS6 255/35/19, £165 a corner from camskill last year iirc :D Now only £145 each :(

Wow, good deal. Suprised you didnt got for 97's on an E61 though?

It rides hard enough as it is didnt want to risk the 97s(93s are standard). Was going to swap out the runflats but there was quite a saving on them compared to the normal tyres.
