Derren Brown - outdone himself this time?

That is completely normal though - if you have ever seen a analogue and digital tv together you will know what I mean - the analogue signal is ahead of the digital signal etc. etc.
Dependant on where you saw it - it won't be 100% live - but the difference is seconds.

Well, the difference in time was effectively the difference between what I saw on my TV and what I saw on my own, surely? Although I am all ears to being told that I'm wrong, so do correct me!

There was ~3 second delay IIRC.

This isn't relevant. He was making a prediction, so he had every right to reveal his prediction before the numbers were drawn. He could easily have done so!

But then it would have been an actual prediction. Which it wasn't. It was a TRICK.

I'm sure it's easier to just show them after the draw, then they don't have to deal with any legal problems before Fridays show.

What he did, prediction, trick, illusion. It was very impressive and I can't wait for Friday.

Anyone who gets the correct numbers can be said to have predicted the numbers chosen, so, in a way, yes he did predict the lottery. How he did so, is a different matter.

Except that a prediction means to forecast something in advance - something we have absolutely no proof that he did, since we didn't see his "prediction" revealed until after the draw.

I'm not saying it didn't look impressive, just that it definitely wasn't "real" :)

If one was a satellite feed and the other terrestrial then there is quite a noticeable delay. I watched SKYHD on C4 in one window and DVB sat card on BBC in another, it was in sync. Both feeds via satellite.

And we shouldn't write it off until we see what he has to say on Friday. :)

Haha, there is camera trickery in motion here.

During the part where he is explaining and standing infront of the turned off TV, the balls are all aligned perfectly.

Just after he reads out the numbers and writes them onto his board, there is a very slight flicker and the ball on the far left is out of line, by a very slight amount but it is visible.

It is relevant as he had to say it to make us believe that he had to do it the way he did.

Part of the trick.

Ooo - I'll have to rewatch, any links? :)

It's true. Do you think they could show Dr Who during Big Brother?
Dear Mr. BBC man.

Please could you let us announce the numbers just once before you? Whilst I understand you have the contract with Camelot, we are 100% confident this will quadruple lottery sales and your viewing figures for weeks to come. Lols.

Love Channel4 man.
